  • Owen White RP | TEX

Rangers' Owen White: Mops up loss

White allowed three runs on three hits and one walk over one inning in Monday's 7-0 loss to the Guardians.

White was part of a bullpen meltdown that allowed seven runs in the final two innings following starter Michael Lorenzen's seven shutout frames. This was the second appearance for White since being called up last week, and it hasn't been good for the 24-year-old right-hander. He's allowed more runs (six) than batters retired (three). Like last season, the Rangers are having bullpen troubles. The back end of David Robertson (2.61 ERA, 20.2 innings) and Kirby Yates (0.56 ERA, seven of seven in save situations) is strong, but in between the starters and the back end is a challenge.

  • Jose Leclerc RP | TEX

Rangers' Jose Leclerc: Takes loss Monday

Leclerc (3-3) was charged with Monday's loss. He allowed three runs on two hits and one walk while striking out one over a third of an inning in a 7-0 loss to Cleveland.

Starter Michael Lorenzen pitched well enough to win -- seven shutout innings -- but he got little support from the offense or the bullpen, which ceded seven runs over the final two innings. It started with Leclerc, who has allowed runs in three consecutive appearances (five runs, four hits, three walks, three innings). The team's closer to start the season, Leclerc had shifted back to lower-leverage outings and worked his way back with a stretch of nine scoreless innings prior to this recent three-game downturn. His ERA now stands at 6.88 with a 1.71 WHIP and 15 walks over 17 innings.

  • Mike Ford DH | CIN

Reds' Mike Ford: Delivers two in loss

Ford went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in Monday's 6-5 loss to Arizona.

Ford made a significant contribution for a second consecutive game. After a game-tying, eighth-inning home run in Sunday's loss to the Giants, Ford hit a game-tying single in the sixth then a go-ahead triple in the eighth Monday. Cincinnati's offense has struggled, so if Ford's bat gets going, he could land a semi-regular role until Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) returns.

  • Reds' Jeimer Candelario: Stays hot in loss

Candelario went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks.

Candelario, who has multiple hits in three of the last six games, is heating up. He's 9-for-24 during that stretch with two doubles, a home run and six RBI. The resurrected bat prompted a move up the order to fifth, after Candelario spent time in the lower third since mid-April.

  • Kevin Ginkel RP | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kevin Ginkel: Two straight blown saves

Ginkel allowed two runs on two hits and a walk over one inning, picking up a blown save in Monday's 6-5 win over Cincinnati.

Ginkel failed to hold an eighth-inning lead for a second consecutive appearance. He's allowed runs in three of the last four outings, all since he slid back from closer to a setup role.

  • Kevin Newman SS | ARI

Diamondbacks' Kevin Newman: Plays hero Monday

Newman went 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI in Monday's 6-5 win over the Reds.

Newman ended the night with a walk-off, two-run single off Cincinnati closer Alexis Diaz, who had hit a batter and walked two before the shortstop played hero. It was the third consecutive game with multiple hits for Newman, who is 8-for-12 with four doubles, a triple, two RBI and four runs scored during that stretch. He's added 74 points to his batting average -- from .179 to .253 -- due to this outburst and is more in line with his career mark of .259. He had become the team's primary shortstop, because his glove was more reliable than rookie Blaze Alexander. Newman should continue to serve that role until Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is ready, which is expected at some point in June.

  • Royals' Dairon Blanco: Records 11th steal

Blanco went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Monday's 6-2 loss to the Mariners.

Blanco was 1-for-2 on stolen base attempts in the game. The outfielder began the year in a bench role, but he's hit his way into starting four of the last five games with time at all three outfield positions. He's gone 7-for-17 (.412) since May 6. Blanco doesn't have much of a track record in a starting role, but he's slashed .293/.356/.439 with a home run, two RBI, 14 runs scored and 11 steals through 45 plate appearances this season as a speed-and-defense option. Blanco's increased playing time has primarily come at the expense of MJ Melendez and Kyle Isbel.

  • Kyle Leahy RP | STL

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Picks up win Monday

Leahy (1-1) struck out three over 2.2 perfect innings to earn the win Monday over Angels.

Starter Matthew Liberatore labored through 3.1 innings, while Leahy was sharp and kept the Cardinals' deficit at four runs. The team's offense made a rare explosion with eight runs in the seventh inning, and they held the lead the rest of the way to get Leahy his first big-league win. The right-hander has a 5.59 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB over 9.2 innings through five appearances as a long reliever this season. With Liberatore still not stretched out as a starter, Leahy could continue to piggyback him while Steven Matz (back) is on the injured list.

  • Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE

Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Notches seventh steal

Rocchio went 2-for-4 with one RBI, a stolen base and two runs scored in Monday's 7-0 win over the Rangers.

Rocchio looked decent at the plate in early May, but he went 0-for-11 across three games versus the White Sox over the weekend. The shortstop has at least shown good speed with seven steals on nine attempts this season. He's added a middling .212/.296/.280 slash line with seven RBI, 18 runs scored and eight doubles through 136 plate appearances. Rocchio continues to hold down a starting role and even got a look at leadoff versus a lefty (Garrett Crochet) Friday as the Guardians look for a solution at the top of the order with Steven Kwan (hamstring) sidelined.

  • Hunter Gaddis RP | CLE

Guardians' Hunter Gaddis: Snags win over Rangers

Gaddis (2-1) struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the win Monday over the Rangers.

It took the Guardians' offense until the eighth inning to get on the board, but they took full control after that. Gaddis took three straight blown saves to close out April, but he's rebounded with 5.2 scoreless innings to begin May. The right-hander has added eight holds, a 2.18 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB through 20.2 innings this season as a key part of the bridge to closer Emmanuel Clase.
