Leahy (1-1) struck out three over 2.2 perfect innings to earn the win Monday over Angels. Starter Matthew Liberatore labored through 3.1 innings, while Leahy was sharp and kept the Cardinals' deficit at four runs. The team's offense made a rare explosion with eight runs in the seventh inning, and they held the lead the rest of the way to get Leahy his first big-league win. The right-hander has a 5.59 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 7:3 K:BB over 9.2 innings through five appearances as a long reliever this season. With Liberatore still not stretched out as a starter, Leahy could continue to piggyback him while Steven Matz (back) is on the injured list.... See More ... See Less

Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Back in majors
The Cardinals recalled Leahy from Triple-A Memphis on Friday. The right-hander served as the 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader and will quickly rejoin the major-league roster as Steven Matz (back) heads to the injured list. Leahy has made four appearances over the past two years with the Cardinals and has given up six runs over three innings.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Returns to Triple-A
The Cardinals returned Leahy to Triple-A Memphis following Tuesday's doubleheader with the Tigers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Leahy received his first call-up of 2024 on Tuesday, serving as the Cardinals' 27th man for the twin bill. He came on in relief of starter Steven Matz in the Cardinals' 11-6 loss in Game 2, taking the loss while allowing two earned runs on two hits in 1.1 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Added to roster as 27th man
The Cardinals selected Leahy's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports. Leahy will be the club's 27th man for Tuesday's doubleheader in Detroit and is likely to be sent back down afterward. The right-handed reliever was removed from St. Louis' 40-man roster over the offseason, but he's made his way back on after holding a 5.84 ERA and 14:4 K:BB over 12.1 innings this season at Memphis.... Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Outrighted to Triple-A
The Cardinals sent Leahy outright to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. Leahy was brought onto the Cardinals' 40-man roster in July and made three appearances before being optioned back to Triple-A. He surrendered four earned runs over just 1.2 innings in the majors, and he posted a 6.37 ERA across 83.1 frames with Memphis. Barring a significant improvement, Leahy doesn't project to contribute significantly in the majors next season.... See More ... See Less -
Cardinals' Kyle Leahy: Selected to MLB bullpen
St. Louis selected Leahy's contract from Triple-A Memphis on Thursday. Leahy is up to fill a long-relief role for the Cardinals, who badly need fresh arms in the bullpen. The 26-year-old right-hander was showing an underwhelming 4.06 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 51:23 K:BB through 51 innings of work this season with Memphis.... See More ... See Less
