Astros' Jose Abreu: Could rejoin team Friday
Astros GM Dana Brown said Sunday that Abreu could join the team Friday in Oakland, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
The 37-year-old has gone 2-for-9 with a double and a walk in two games with the FCL Astros in the Gulf Coast League, and he's expected to play in a couple more games -- potentially with Triple-A Sugar Land -- this week before rejoining the Astros. Jon Singleton has been operating as Houston's primary first baseman over the past few weeks, and it's unclear if Abreu will immediately reclaim the job once he's called back up.

France has a .653 OPS through 15 games in May and will take a seat for Sunday's series finale in Baltimore. Luke Raley will step in at first base and bat cleanup.

Pasquantino is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Oakland.
The lefty-hitting first baseman will begin the game from the dugout as the Royals take on southpaw JP Sears. Salvador Perez will move to first base in place of Pasquantino while Freddy Fermin starts at catcher as Kansas City looks get the sweep against the Athletics.

Smith is not in the lineup for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.
The lefty-hitting Smith will get a break as Boston takes on southpaw Matthew Liberatore. Garrett Cooper will fill in at first base and bat sixth while Tyler O'Neill moves to designated hitter as the Red Sox look to avoid the sweep in St. Louis.

Lowe went 0-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings win over the Angels.
Lowe, who is hitless over his last 13 at-bats, was the late-game hero for the Rangers. He set up extra innings with an run-producing, eighth-inning sacrifice fly, then Lowe was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th for the walk-off win. The two RBI give him 14 over 26 games.

Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Scores twice in win
Freeman went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Reds.
Freeman drew a leadoff walk to open the bottom of the fourth and would eventually come home to score the Dodgers' first run of the contest later in the frame on a single from outfielder Andy Pages. The star first baseman would add an RBI single in the fourth, along with a leadoff double in the eighth, before coming around to score for a second time. Freeman had gone hitless in his previous two games but now has five multi-hit games in May to go along with six RBI and 14 runs scored. He's also tied for fifth in the league in doubles with 13.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Reaches base five times
Diaz went 3-for-3 with two walks and a run scored Saturday against the Blue Jays.
Diaz has gotten on track at the plate across the last two weeks, with Saturday's performance marking his eighth multi-hit performance across his last 15 games. He's gone 23-for-63 with 12 RBI and 10 runs scored, also chipping in a pair of home runs. Overall, Diaz owns a 106 wRC+ but just a .097 ISO across 206 plate appearances for the season.

Phillies' Bryce Harper: Walks it off with sac fly
Harper went 1-for-4 with a run, an RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning win against Washington.
Harper singled, stole a base and came home on a double-play groundout in the fourth inning for Philadelphia's first run. He was retired his next two times at the plate before driving home the winning run with a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 10th frame. Harper is batting .321 with four homers, 15 RBI, 14 runs and two stolen bases through 15 contests in May.

Marlins' Josh Bell: Big homer off Diaz in comeback win
Bell went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in Saturday's 10-9 victory over the Mets in 10 innings.
Bell had two singles -- including one that drove in a run -- when he strolled to the plate in the bottom of the ninth inning to face Edwin Diaz as the tying run. He then swatted one 428 feet for a three-run home run to knot things up before the Marlins eventually won in the 10th. Bell's home run -- which was his sixth of the season -- was measured at 107.9 mph off the bat. The first baseman is 10-for-25 with two long balls over his last six games.
