Giants' Blake Snell: Set to rejoin rotation
Snell (thigh) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list and make his next start for the Giants, likely Wednesday against the Pirates, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
The veteran left-hander made his second rehab start with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, and he's apparently ready to rejoin the Giants after he struck out 10 over five scoreless frames. Snell didn't give up a run across his two rehab outings, which is an encouraging development after he posted an 11.57 ERA in his first three MLB starts of the campaign after signing late in spring training.

Giants' Jorge Soler: Three hits out of leadoff spot
Soler went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI and one run scored in Saturday's 14-4 win over the Rockies.
This was the second game in a row Soler's hit leadoff, though the Giants may try any number of players there to replace Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder). Soler has gone 4-for-9 with a walk over two games since he came off the injured list. The 32-year-old is slashing .219/.308/.383 with five home runs, 10 RBI, 16 runs scored and six doubles over 146 plate appearances. If he sticks at leadoff, Soler's RBI production could dip, though he may score more often if he can get on base at a healthy clip.

Giants' Matt Chapman: Four-hit game Saturday
Chapman went 4-for-4 with a walk and four runs scored in Saturday's 14-4 win over the Rockies.
Chapman doubled, singled twice and also stole his fifth base of the season. The veteran third baseman had three hits and a steal in Friday's contest, as well, so perhaps he's finally starting to turn the corner. Chapman had been demoted to as low as seventh in the Giants' batting order earlier this month, but he's hit cleanup for the last two games.

Giants' Luis Matos: Stays hot with six-RBI day
Matos went 3-for-5 with a home run and six RBI in Saturday's 14-4 victory over the Rockies.
Matos drove in a career-high five runs in Friday's series opener and then one-upped himself Saturday. He got the scoring going in this one with a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. The youngster then followed that with an RBI double in his next trip to the dish before capping off his night with a two-RBI single. Matos is just the fourth Giants player ever to notch consecutive five-RBI games, and he has tallied a whopping 17 RBI in seven contests since being recalled. While he had just a .661 OPS with the Giants last season and a .663 OPS this year at Triple-A Sacramento, Matos is a former top prospect who just turned 22 in January. At the very least, he's become a player who needs to be rostered in five-outfielder leagues.

Giants' Alex Cobb: Gets cortisone shot for shoulder
Cobb was given another cortisone injection to combat his injured right shoulder, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Cobb began the season on the injured list while he continued to recover from hip surgery, but it's been elbow and shoulder issues that have plagued him since. This was the second cortisone shot he's been given for his shoulder, and the hope is that it will be more effective than the first one. Cobb will be shut down for a bit and his timetable to return is open-ended.

Giants' Kyle Harrison: Good enough for win
Harrison (4-1) picked up the win Saturday versus the Rockies, yielding three runs on five hits and two walks over five frames. He notched four strikeouts.
Harrison was originally supposed to start Friday but got pushed back a day, with the Giants indicating it was because they were keeping an eye on his workload. His velocity was down a bit Saturday and he threw only 79 pitches over his five frames before getting pulled. While not overly sharp, Harrison was still good enough against the Rockies to pick up his fourth victory of the season. While the left-hander's 3.60 ERA and 1.27 WHIP are respectable, he's been a bit of a disappointment from a strikeout perspective with just 49 over 55 innings.

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Moved to 60-day IL
The Giants transferred Lee (shoulder) to the 60-day IL on Saturday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Lee will miss the remainder of the 2024 season after dislocating his left shoulder Sunday and suffering a torn labrum. He will finish his first season in the majors with a .262/.310/.331 slash line while hitting two homers and driving in eight RBI across 145 plate appearances. Ryan McKenna was claimed off waivers from Baltimore to fill Lee's spot on the 40-man roster.

The Giants claimed McKenna off waivers from Baltimore on Saturday, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
McKenna was pushed off the Orioles' 40-man roster Monday to make room for Austin Hays' return from the injured list, but McKenna will have another opportunity to contribute in the big leagues as he moves to San Francisco. The 27-year-old outfielder owns a a .224/.302/.332 career slash line across four seasons in the majors, and he will provide depth to a Giants outfield that will be without Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder) for the rest of the season.

Giants' Alex Cobb: Shut down again
Manager Bob Melvin said Saturday that Cobb (hip/shoulder) has paused his throwing program due to further complications with his right shoulder, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Cobb has now been pulled off his throwing program three times since the beginning of the season due to problems with his shoulder. An MRI of his shoulder came back negative in late April, but the Giants will likely want to take another look just to be absolutely certain the right-hander isn't dealing with some underlying issue. Melvin added that Cobb isn't close to returning following his latest shutdown, making it likely his absence extends well into June.

Giants' Patrick Bailey: Clear to resume baseball activities
Bailey (concussion) was evaluated Friday by Dr. Mickey Collins, a concussion expert in Pittsburgh, and cleared for baseball activities this weekend, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Bailey has been on the 7-day concussion list twice this month. The catcher is expected to be evaluated by the Giants again next week, so a return is not imminent. Blake Sabol and Curt Casali will continue to share the catching duties until Bailey is activated.

Matos went 3-for-5 with two doubles and five RBI in Friday's 10-5 win over the Rockies.
Matos enjoyed one of the best games of his career, driving in at least one run with each of his hits. He added an RBI on a groundout in the seventh inning as well. The 22-year-old is hitting .333 (7-for-21) with 11 RBI and three extra-base hits over his first six contests this season. With Jung Hoo Lee (shoulder) out for the year, Matos has a golden opportunity to claim a full-time major-league job if he can keep hitting well.

Giants' Matt Chapman: Logs three hits, steal in win
Chapman went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a hit-by-pitch, an RBI, a stolen base and three runs scored in Friday's 10-5 win over the Rockies.
Chapman has gone 9-for-32 (.281) over his last eight games as he finally seems to be finding a rhythm at the plate. He got the Giants on the board with an RBI double in the first inning and continued to be involved in the team's subsequent rallies. The third baseman is slashing .218/.273/.362 with five home runs, 10 doubles, 20 RBI, 25 runs scored and four steals through 187 plate appearances this season. While his rate stats are well below his usual standards, the recent improvements are a reason for optimism, especially as he continues to hit in the heart of the order for a lineup devastated by injuries.

Estrada went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and three total runs scored in Friday's 10-5 win over the Rockies.
Estrada's fifth-inning blast put the Giants ahead for the first time in the contest, and they held the lead the rest of the way. The second baseman had gone 4-for-22 (.182) over his previous six contests, though he had a pair of extra-base hits in that span. Estrada is up to an acceptable .250/.274/.435 slash line with seven homers, 24 RBI, 21 runs scored, eight doubles, one triple and one stolen base through 175 plate appearances in a starting role this season.

Giants' Sean Hjelle: Snags win in relief
Hjelle (1-1) allowed three hits and struck out one without walking a batter over two scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Rockies.
Hjelle was in the game when the Giants rallied ahead in the fifth inning, and they kept the lead the rest of the way. The right-hander has been decent in May, allowing two runs on 11 hits with a 14:0 K:BB over 10 innings across his last seven appearances. He's at a 2.81 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 17:1 K:BB through 16 innings this season as a multi-inning relief option for the Giants. Hjelle's also added two holds, but he has little chance of seeing consistent late-inning work.
