  • Nationals' Mitchell Parker: Starting Game 2 of twin bill

Parker will start the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the White Sox.

This won't disrupt Parker's routine, as he was already scheduled to take the mound Tuesday. He'll get the ball for the nightcap after Trevor Williams toes the rubber in Game 1.

  • Giants' Jakson Reetz: Up with big club

Reetz was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Reetz was called up to take the spot of Jung Hoo Lee, who was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier in the day due to a left shoulder dislocation. Reetz isn't listed in the team's starting lineup for Monday's series opener, but he could see time behind the dish if Patrick Bailey (illness) struggles to return to health.

Giants' Jung Hoo Lee: Placed on IL

The Giants placed Lee on the 10-day IL on Monday due to a left shoulder dislocation.

Lee dislocated his left shoulder when he ran into the outfield wall attempting to make a catch in the top of the first inning of Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning win over the Reds. With Lee set to be sidelined for an extended period of time, Tyler Fitzgerald is set to see a significant uptick in playing time, particularly in platoon lineups against southpaws.

  • Alex Wood SP | OAK

Athletics' Alex Wood: Having shoulder evaluated

Wood has been sent back to Oakland to have his left shoulder evaluated, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Wood was dealing with shoulder soreness during Sunday's start versus the Mariners and it sounds like it's been a problem for him for a while. A stint on the injured list would appear to be a distinct possibility, but the Athletics have not made a move with the lefty as of yet. More should be known about Wood's condition in the coming days.

  • Ken Waldichuk SP | OAK

Athletics' Ken Waldichuk: Slated for elbow surgery

Waldichuk will undergo left elbow surgery Wednesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Waldichuk elected to have a more conservative procedure after being diagnosed with a UCL sprain and flexor strain last October, but he recently had a setback and will need to be operated on again. It's not clear yet what kind of surgery he'll have Wednesday, but it promises to be more invasive.

  • Chris Flexen SP | CHW

White Sox's Chris Flexen: White Sox-Nationals postponed

Flexen and the White Sox won't play Monday against the Nationals after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Chicago, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday, with Flexen taking the mound for the first game. The 29-year-old right-hander has a 2-3 record over six starts this season with a 4.29 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 35.2 innings.

  • Nationals' Trevor Williams: Nationals-White Sox postponed

Williams and the Nationals won't play Monday against the White Sox after the game was postponed due to inclement weather in Chicago, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday. Williams' next start will simply be pushed back a day to one half of the twin bill, and the White Sox will do the same with their scheduled starter for Monday, Chris Flexen.

  • Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX

Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: Might throw off mound this weekend

Eovaldi (groin) could be ready to throw off a mound this weekend, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Eovaldi did some more flat-ground throwing Monday and might be ready to try things from the bump soon. While he looks to be trending in the right direction, it does not appear Eovaldi will be ready to return from the injured list when first eligible on Saturday. He's coming back from a strained right groin.

  • Alek Thomas CF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Alek Thomas: Receives PRP injection

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Monday that Thomas received a PRP injection for his left hamstring, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Thomas was set to return to the majors last week following his three rehab appearances, but he suffered a setback and received multiple opinions on his MRI on his left hamstring. Lovullo noted that Thomas had swelling in the lower part of his hamstring that led to the PRP injection, and a timeline for the 24-year-old outfielder's return to action is unclear.

  • Evan Carter LF | TEX

Rangers' Evan Carter: Undergoing MRI on injured back

Carter will undergo an MRI on his back Monday, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports.

Carter is out of the lineup for a fourth straight game Monday against the Guardians, with the last three absences due to a lower-back problem. The fact that the injury has necessitated an MRI points to a possible stint on the 10-day injured list, but more information on Carter's should be known once the results are in. Ezequiel Duran will start in left field for the Rangers on Monday.
