Bride was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. After being called up Saturday, Bride went 1-for-5 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 12-3 win over the Athletics. With Jake Burger (oblique) returning from the 10-day injured list Monday, Bride was the odd man out on the major-league roster and he'll head back to Jacksonville. The 28-year-old has produced a .349 batting average with seven homers, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored and a stolen base over 86 at-bats in 25 games at Triple-A this season.... See More ... See Less

Marlins' Jonah Bride: Back to majors
The Marlins recalled Bride from Triple-A Jacksonville on Saturday. Bride played in five games for the Marlins at the beginning of the season, going 1-for-7 with a walk over that span. He was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville on April 4, and he has been tearing it up in the minors with a .349 batting average and 1.180 OPS over 110 plate appearances. To make room for Bride, Miami optioned right-hander Woo-suk Go to Triple-A Jacksonville.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Jonah Bride: Optioned to minors
Bride was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville by the Marlins on Thursday. He will yield his roster spot for new acquisition Emmanuel Rivera. Bride had one hit in seven at-bats during his time in the majors this season.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Jonah Bride: Gets start against lefty
Bride is starting at third base and batting eighth in Friday's game versus the Pirates, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports. Bride was a late addition to the Opening Day roster after the Marlins traded Jon Berti, and he winds up getting a start in the club's second game against left-hander Martin Perez. Jake Burger is sliding over to first base and Josh Bell will be the designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Jonah Bride: Chance to make team
Bride could now make the Marlins' Opening Day roster following the trade of Jon Berti, Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports. Bride was optioned to Triple-A Jacksonville earlier this month, but with an ability to handle multiple infield positions he makes for a natural replacement for Berti. However, the Marlins already have utility options Nick Gordon and Vidal Brujan on the roster, so they may not feel the need to add a third. The 28-year-old Bride was acquired from the Athletics in February.... See More ... See Less -
Marlins' Jonah Bride: Heads to Triple-A
The Marlins optioned Bride to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday. Bride logged 106 plate appearances in the majors with Oakland in 2023, but he'll likely have a tougher path to meaningful action in the big leagues with the Marlins, who acquired him in February. The 28-year-old should play on an everyday basis for Jacksonville to begin the 2024 campaign and will likely need one of the Marlins' corner infielders to fall victim to an injury before he receives an opportunity with the big club.... Athletics' Jonah Bride: DFA'd by Oakland
Bride was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Friday. Bride appeared in 98 games for the A's over the past two seasons, but his .192/.296/.232 slash line wasn't enough for him to retain a spot on the 40-man roster ahead of spring training. The move clears space for Ross Stripling, who was acquired Friday from San Francisco.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Sitting again in favor of Diaz
Bride remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners. Though he seemed to have supplanted Jordan Diaz as the Athletics' primary third baseman last week, Bride now finds himself on the bench for the fourth consecutive game. While starting each of the five games before that, Bride went 3-for-15 with a double and a pair of walks, so he didn't exactly stake a strong claim to a regular spot in the Oakland lineup.... Athletics' Jonah Bride: Back to bench Sunday
Bride is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox. Bride is on the bench Sunday after starting in each of the previous five games while going 3-for-15 with a double, two walks, an RBI and three runs. The last three of his starts came at third base, where he could be emerging as the Athletics' preferred option. Jordan Diaz gets the starting nod at the hot corner Sunday, but he enters the contest in a 2-for-29 funk at the plate over his last 10 games.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Recalled from Triple-A
Oakland recalled Bride from Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday. Bride will get another shot in the bigs as the Athletics play out the string on a predictably ugly 2023 season. The 27-year-old has slashed just .189/.313/.208 with zero homers and zero steals in 22 games (65 plate appearances) this summer at the MLB level.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Back with Triple-A
Bride was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday. Bride appeared in one contest since being promoted Thursday, as he went 0-for-2 at the plate Friday against the Astros. The Athletics have yet to announce a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Raking in return to Vegas
Bride owns a .381 average, 1.128 OPS and modest 15.1 percent strikeout rate over the 53 plate appearances covering his last 11 games with Triple-A Las Vegas. The 27-year-old is back to thriving in the Pacific Coast League, something he's consistently been able to do through his multiple stints with the Aviators over the last season-plus. Bride went 0-for-8 in his first two games back with Las Vegas after being demoted from the Athletics, but he's since churned out six multi-hit efforts, five extra-base hits, eight RBI, 11 walks and 15 runs over the ensuing 11-game span. Bride could potentially earn another call to the big leagues later this summer or upon roster expansion during the final month-plus of the regular season.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Sent back to Triple-A
Oakland optioned Bride to Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday. Bride slashed just .196/.323/.216 across 21 games (63 plate appearances) during his four-week stay on the Athletics' major-league roster. Jace Peterson had largely taken over as the team's primary third baseman even before this move.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Sitting Tuesday
Bride isn't in the Athletics' lineup Tuesday against Cleveland. Bride is hitless (0-for-14) across his last six games and will now miss his second consecutive start as the A's look for more production at third base. Jace Peterson will slide over to the hot corner Tuesday, allowing Tony Kemp to start at second and bat eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Sitting Sunday vs. Phillies
Bride is absent from the starting lineup for Sunday's game versus the Phillies. Bride's struggled mightily at the plate as of late, and a .308 average June 9 has dropped to .209 after Bride went hitless over his last five games. Jace Peterson is playing third base and batting second against Philadelphia on Sunday while Tony Kemp gets a start at second base and hits seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: On bench Sunday
Bride is out of the lineup Sunday versus the Brewers. Bride will get a day off after he went 1-for-5 with two RBI and a walk while striking out twice over the first two games of the series. Aledmys Diaz will take over at the hot corner and bat sixth as the Athletics go for the sweep Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Plates pair in Friday's win
Bride went 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a run-scoring sacrifice fly in a win over the Brewers on Friday. Bride extended his hitting streak to four games with Friday's timely knock, and his pair of RBI pushed his total to four over the last four games. The 27-year-old sports an impressive .308 average (8-for-26) since being promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas on May 30 and appears to be progressively strengthening his grip on the starting third base job.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Two more hits Wednesday
Bride went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over Pittsburgh. Bride's logged multiple hits in back-to-back games, boosting his slash line to .304/.407/.348 through his first 27 plate appearances this season. The 27-year-old Bride struggled to a .548 OPS in his rookie campaign, though he posted a .993 mark with eight home runs in 43 games this year with Triple-A Las Vegas. Bride should continue to see regular starts at third base on a rebuilding Oakland team and could be worth a look in deeper fantasy leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Gets third straight start
Bride will start at third base and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Pirates. Bride will be making his third consecutive start after going 3-for-7 with a double, an RBI and a run between the first two games of the series in Pittsburgh. Since his promotion from Triple-A Las Vegas on May 29, Bride has turned in a modest .679 OPS over 22 plate appearances, but that may be enough for him to at least temporarily settle into a near-everyday role in the Oakland infield.... See More ... See Less -
Athletics' Jonah Bride: Sitting Sunday
Bride is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Marlins. Bride will take a seat for the second straight game, with the Marlins having started right-handed pitchers on both occasions. Jace Peterson will man the hot corner and hit seventh Sunday in place of Bride, who may be relegated to a short-side platoon role.... See More ... See Less
