Lohrei was demoted to AHL Providence on Friday.
Lohrei's demotion shouldn't come as a surprise considering he has played in just two of the team's last 11 outings. He should get significantly more playing time in the minors, but he figures to be back up with the club during the postseason to serve as an emergency depth option.
