Rockies' Nolan Jones: Nearing return
Jones (back) is expected to be recalled from his rehab assignment following Sunday's game with Triple-A Albuquerque, MLB.com reports.
Jones has appeared in three games with Albuquerque, starting twice in left field and once at designated hitter. He's lined up for a fourth appearance Sunday and will rejoin the big-league club as it travels to Oakland. Assuming all goes according to plan, it appears that Jones will be activated for the first game of the series on Tuesday.

Rockies' Nolan Jones: Kicks off rehab assignment
Jones (back) began a rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Wednesday and went 0-for-3 with a strikeout and an RBI.
Jones received three plate appearances and played five innings in left field in his first game action since he landed on the 10-day injured list in late April with a low-back strain. He shouldn't need too many rehab games before being activated since he hasn't been sidelined for an extended period, but the Rockies haven't provided a firm target date for his return to the big club. The 26-year-old has slashed a disappointing .170/.243/.277 with one home run and two stolen bases over 103 plate appearances this season.

Jones (back) will join Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday but will not immediately begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.
Jones is traveling to Albuquerque with Kris Bryant (back), but he's behind his teammate in his recovery process. He'll continue to ramp up his activity prior to appearing in games, but the Rockies hope he'll be ready to return from the 10-day injured list by late May.

Rockies' Nolan Jones: Moves to injured list
The Rockies placed Jones on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to April 29, with a low-back strain.
The 25-year-old was removed from Sunday's game against the Astros after his back injury flared up, and he'll be sidelined for at least the next week and a half after being diagnosed with a strain. Prospect Jordan Beck was promoted in a corresponding move and should see most of the reps in left field while Jones is sidelined.

Rockies' Nolan Jones: Likely headed to IL
The Rockies are expected to place Jones (back) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.
Zahlmann notes that outfield prospect Jordan Beck is on track to receive a call-up from Triple-A Albuquerque, and given that he suffered a setback with his lingering back injury in Sunday's 8-2 loss to the Astros, Jones is an obvious candidate to come off the 26-man active roster in a corresponding move. Jones has been removed from games twice within the past week due to back stiffness, so it makes sense for the Rockies to get out in front of the issue and put him on the shelf for at least the next week and a half so he can rest up and recover. After a breakout 20-20 campaign with the Rockies in 2023, Jones has struggled mightily over the first month of the 2024 season, slashing just .170/.243/.277 while contributing one home run and two stolen bases over 103 plate appearances.
