  • Vaughn Grissom 2B | BOS

Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Likely to hit IL

Grissom has a mild right hamstring strain and is expected to be placed on the injured list, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reported Saturday.

Grissom was removed from Saturday's game against the Tigers in the third inning after slowing up and grabbing his right hamstring running to first on a groundout. While it's not the same hamstring that sidelined him at the start of the year, Saturday's injury will likely require an IL stint. While Grissom is sidelined, expect Romy Gonzales, David Hamilton and Ceddane Rafaela to see plenty of work in the middle infield.

  • White Sox's Andrew Benintendi: Leaves early Saturday

Benintendi exited Saturday's contest against the Brewers in the bottom of the third inning with left Achilles tendinitis.

Benintendi launched a solo home run off Robert Gasser in the top of the third inning, delivering the White Sox an early 1-0 lead, before leaving the game in the bottom half of the frame. Dominic Fletcher took over in the outfield and more information on Benintendi's status will likely come following the contest.

Red Sox's Vaughn Grissom: Exits early Saturday

Grissom was removed from Saturday's contest with the Tigers in the top of the third inning due to a right hamstring strain, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.

Grissom grounded out in the bottom of the second inning and was replaced by Connor Wong at second base. He missed the first month of the season with a left hamstring strain. The Red Sox will close out its series against Detroit on Sunday before getting a day off Monday. Expect more information regarding Grissom's injury after Saturday's game.

  • Collin Snider RP | SEA

Mariners' Collin Snider: Called up Saturday

Snider was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.

Snider will return to the major-league bullpen for the first time since April 8, replacing Gabe Speier (shoulder) on the 26-man roster after Speier was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday. Snider has appeared in three games with Seattle in 2024, surrendering two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out two over three innings.

  • Gabe Speier RP | SEA

Mariners' Gabe Speier: Placed on 15-day IL

Speier was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left rotator cuff strain Saturday, retroactive to May 30, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Speier last appeared in a game May 29, allowing one hit while striking out a batter over two-thirds of an inning against the Astros. He'll now be forced to miss at least two weeks, but considering it's his throwing shoulder, Speier may be forced to miss extended time. In a corresponding move, the Mariners called up right-hander Collin Snider from Triple-A Tacoma on Saturday.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: On bench versus lefty

Canzone is not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Angels.

Canzone will get a breather as the Mariners face off with southpaw Reid Detmers. Mitch Garver will draw the start at designated hitter and bat seventh versus Los Angeles.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | SEA

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Sitting versus southpaw

Rojas is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Angels.

Rojas will take a seat as the Mariners face left-hander Reid Detmers. Dylan Moore will draw the start at third base while Luke Raley enters the lineup in left field, batting eighth against Los Angeles.

  • Mark Canha DH | DET

Tigers' Mark Canha: Expects to play Sunday

Canha (hip) expects to play a full game Sunday versus the Red Sox, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Canha is dealing with a psoas strain in his left hip and his ability to return to the lineup Sunday will be a big test for his status moving forward. If he suffers a setback, the 35-year-old will likely head to the injured list.

  • Nolan Schanuel 1B | LAA

Angels' Nolan Schanuel: Out again Saturday

Schanuel (thumb) is absent from the Angels' lineup Saturday versus the Mariners, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Schanuel was a late scratch from the lineup ahead of Friday's 5-4 loss and he'll once again take a seat Saturday. Willie Calhoun will slot in a first base for a second straight game while batting fourth.

  • Kyren Paris 2B | LAA

Angels' Kyren Paris: Remains on bench

Paris is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus Seattle, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Paris will remain on the bench for a second game in a row. Luis Rengifo will slide over to second base while Luis Guillorme draws another start at third base and bats ninth against the Mariners.
