  • Julio Carreras 3B | COL

Rockies' Julio Carreras: DFA'd by Colorado

Carreras was designated for assignment by the Rockies on Sunday, Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports.

The 24-year-old was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque in mid-March and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Carreras has struggled to a .515 OPS and 32.9 percent strikeout rate through 38 games with the Isotopes this season.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Should swing soon

Riley is out of the lineup against the Padres but hasn't had any issues with his intercostal injury Sunday, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Riley hasn't seen the field since May 12 due to intercostal inflammation but appears to be progressing in his recovery, and he could soon resume taking swings. The 27-year-old may be able to avoid a stint on the injured list but still seems to be at a couple days away from rejoining the lineup.

  • Austin Riley 3B | ATL

Braves' Austin Riley: Still sidelined Sunday

Riley (side) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.

The 27-year-old said Saturday that he's feeling better, but he's still absent from the lineup for a fifth straight game due to left side inflammation. A trip to the injured list has yet to be discussed for the third baseman, but that could change if Riley doesn't show more improvement soon. Zack Short will receive another start at the hot corner Sunday for Atlanta.

  • Eugenio Suarez 3B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Receiving rare day off

Suarez is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Tigers.

Suarez is batting .148 with a .457 OPS through 15 games in May and will hit the bench Sunday for just the second time this season. Blaze Alexander will man the hot corner and hit seventh in the series finale versus Detroit.

  • Brett Harris 3B | OAK

Athletics' Brett Harris: On bench Sunday

Harris is out of the lineup for Sunday's game at Kansas City.

Harris will sit for the fourth time in Oakland's past six contests after he started the previous 11 games. Abraham Toro will take over at the hot corner and bat leadoff.

  • Yankees' Oswaldo Cabrera: Out of lineup Sunday

Cabrera is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.

The third-year major leaguer will begin the game from the dugout in the second straight game as the Yankees close out their series with Chicago. Jon Berti will get the start at third base and bat ninth in place of Cabrera.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | DET

Tigers' Gio Urshela: Tallies three hits in win

Urshela went 3-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Diamondbacks.

Urshela just returned from the injured list Thursday after missing about a month due to a hamstring injury, and these were his first hits since returning, pushing his season average up to a solid .290. The 32-year-old should continue to start most days at third base, though the team will likely find him regular off days to ensure he stays healthy. Matt Vierling is the top option to start at the hot corner when Urshela is on the bench.

  • Cubs' Christopher Morel: Provides offense Saturday

Morel went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Pirates.

Morel's line drive to center in the bottom of the ninth inning brought in Cody Bellinger with the game-winning run. It was a nice effort for Morel, who's been productive this month despite batting just .220 in May. The production has come mostly in the power department, as the 24-year-old has five home runs this month across 17 games. Morel came into May with four long balls over his first 29 contests.

  • Rafael Devers 3B | BOS

Red Sox's Rafael Devers: Swinging hot bat

Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Devers has homered in four straight games, giving him eight long balls on the year. The third baseman took Miles Mikolas deep in the fourth inning Saturday. Devers is batting .294 (10-for-34) with seven extra-base hits and seven RBI during his eight-game hitting streak. He's up to a .284/.381/.537 slash line through 36 contests this season.

  • Jose Ramirez 3B | CLE

Guardians' Jose Ramirez: Goes deep again Saturday

Ramirez went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three total RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Twins.

Ramirez set the tone early with a two-run homer in the first inning. He added a run-scoring double in the third and finished with his second three-hit effort over his past five contests. Ramirez has gone deep in back-to-back games and has a .340 average, six homers and 16 RBI over his past 13 contests.
