  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: No offensive support in loss

Shesterkin made 24 saves on 26 shots in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to the Panthers in Game 1.

It was a rare night in which Shesterkin wasn't at the top of his game and he was outdueled in net by Florida's Sergei Bobrovsky. It was Shesterkin's third loss in his last four starts. Wednesday's loss also marks the eighth game in a row that the 28-year-old netminder has allowed at least two goals to get past him. Shesterkin has a record of 8-3 with a 2.37 GAA and a .923 save percentage so far during the postseason. The all-world goaltender will attempt to bounce back and help the Rangers even up the series in Game 2 on Saturday.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Blanks New York to open series

Bobrovsky posted a shutout on 23 shots on goal in Wednesday's 3-0 win over the Rangers in Game 1.

Bobrovsky showed no signs of rust after a five-day hiatus in Wednesday's series-opening win. The Rangers only had 12 shots on goal through 40 minutes, but Bobrovsky stood tall in the final frame with a few timely saves. It was the 35-year-old netminder's fifth win in his last six games. Bob hasn't had many heavy workloads up until this point -- he's faced 30 or more shots on goal only twice this postseason in 12 contests. This is an indication of the level of structure and commitment to the defensive side of the game the Panthers are playing with in front of the Russian goaltender. So far this postseason, Bobrovsky is 9-3 with a 2.17 GAA and a .909 save percentage.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Tending twine Thursday

Oettinger will guard the home crease Thursday in Game 1 against the Oilers, according to Nick Cotsonika of NHL.com.

Oettinger was outstanding Friday in clinching the Stars' second round series, as he turned aside 29 shots in a 2-1 double-overtime win over Colorado. Oettinger is 8-5 with a 2.09 GAA and a .918 save percentage, over the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs. He was 1-0-1 in the regular season versus Edmonton, giving up four goals on 55 shots.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Between pipes for Game 1

Skinner will tend the twine on the road in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Stars on Thursday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports.

Skinner has faced less than 20 shots in each of his last four appearances, posting a 3-1 record to go with a 2.66 GAA and .848 save percentage over that stretch. Despite being benched for Games 4 and 5 of the Oilers' second-round series versus Vancouver, the 25-year-old backstop was able to reclaim the starting role from Calvin Pickard for the final two games of the best-of-seven series. Skinner will likely remain the preferred choice in net for Edmonton during the Western Conference Finals.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: In goal Wednesday

Bobrovsky will get the starting nod on the road against the Rangers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday.

Bobrovsky is sporting a 2.37 GAA and a .902 save percentage through 11 postseason contests. He's been getting plenty of offensive support, as the Panthers have averaged 3.55 goals in the postseason, the most of any team remaining in the playoffs. Bobrovsky will be squaring off with Igor Shesterkin on the other side.

  • Rangers' Igor Shesterkin: Slated to start Wednesday

Shesterkin is expected to guard the home goal against Florida in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday.

Shesterkin has led the Rangers to the Eastern Conference Finals by posting an 8-2 record, 2.40 GAA and .923 save percentage in 10 playoff appearances this year. However, the 28-year-old goaltender has allowed at least three goals in each of his past three starts. Florida has excelled offensively in the postseason, averaging 3.55 goals per contest, so the Panthers will be a challenging adversary for Shesterkin.

  • Trent Miner G | COL

Avalanche's Trent Miner: Inks one-year contract

Miner signed a one-year contract extension with the Avalanche on Tuesday.

Miner spent his time in the AHL and ECHL this season. He recorded an impressive .930 save percentage through 18 appearances during his time in the AHL as well as a .917 save percentage through 11 ECHL appearances. Alexandar Georgiev and Justus Annunen are both under contract through 2024-25, so Miner will likely spend most, if not all, of next season in the minors.

  • Canucks' Arturs Silovs: Loses Game 7

Silovs allowed three goals on 29 shots in Monday's 3-2 loss to the Oilers in Game 7.

Silovs took consecutive losses at the NHL level for the first time in his career, and it couldn't have come at a worse time for the Canucks. He allowed eight goals on 56 shots over Games 6 and 7. Overall, he went 5-5 in the playoffs, allowing 29 goals over 10 contests. It's not a particularly impressive body of work, but it's enough to think Silovs will enter 2024-25 as backup to Thatcher Demko (knee) if Casey DeSmith walks in free agency. Silovs will also need a new contract as a restricted free agent.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Nabs Game 7 win

Skinner stopped 15 of 17 shots in Monday's 3-2 win over the Canucks in Game 7.

Skinner earned back-to-back wins after a two-game benching, but he's still not showing that much to inspire confidence. In those wins, he stopped 29 of 32 shots, a product of the Canucks' lackluster offense more than Skinner's own quality of play. Nonetheless, he's likely done enough to regain the starting job heading into the Western Conference Finals, which begin in Dallas on Thursday.

  • Oilers' Stuart Skinner: Gets starting nod for Game 7

Skinner will be between the road pipes for Monday's Game 7 clash with the Canucks, Daniel Nugent-Bowman of The Athletic reports.

Skinner returned from a two-game benching to stop 14 of 15 shots in a Game 6 win. In each of his last three appearances, the netminder has faced less than 20 shots, though that's not surprising since the Canucks have averaged a league-worst 21.1 shots per game in the postseason. If he can secure the win Monday, Skinner should be the presumptive starter moving forward.
