  • Rangers' Daniel Paille: Recalled with six others Wednesday

Paille was one of seven players that were recalled from AHL Hartford on Wednesday.

Following the conclusion of Hartford's season, the Rangers made this mass recall to provide additional depth in the postseason. In addition to Paille, the recent recalls consist of Mat Bodie, Chris Brown, Ryan Graves, Nicklas Jensen, Jayson Megna and Chris Summers. Barring a multitude of injuries to the Rangers' lineup, none of these players are likely to participate in postseason hockey.

  • Rangers' Daniel Paille: Placed on waivers Saturday

The Rangers waived Paille on Saturday.

Paille was unable to carve out a meaningful role with the Rangers after signing with the team Jan. 21, failing to register a single point in the 12 games he's suited up for as a Blueshirt. The 31-year-old winger will likely pass through waivers unclaimed, at which point he will probably be assigned to AHL Hartford.

  • Rangers' Daniel Paille: Minutes reduced in second tilt with team

Paille was minus-1 with two shots on goal in a loss to Ottawa on Sunday.

Not a lot to report here as the former first round draft pick (Buffalo, 2002) logged just over 11 minutes of total ice time, a reduction from the 15 minutes he registered in his Rangers on Friday against Carolina. Still, head coach Alain Vigneault was none-too-pleased with his team's performance and is not shy about shaking up his lines to send a message. All things considered, the veteran forward is not likely to ever repeat his career best campaign 35 points in 77 games in his sophomore season (2007-08) with Buffalo.

  • Blackhawks Release Paille From PTO

Paille was released from his PTO with the Blackhawks on Monday, James Mirtle of The Globe and Mail reports. The Blackhawks are pretty deep at forward, so Paille was always considered a bit of a long shot to crack the 23-man roster. He may, however, draw interest from NHL clubs looking to add some veteran depth to their bottom-six forward group. The 31-year-old winger tallied 13 points (six goals, seven assists) in 71 games with the Bruins last season.

  • Bruins' Paille Scoreless Through Five Games

Paille hasn't tallied a point in the five games he's appeared in for the Bruins this season. The fourth-liner is averaging under 10 minutes of ice time per game and could see his role diminish further once Carl Soderberg returns from injury. Paille's utility comes primarily on the penalty-kill unit, a role that doesn't open itself up to many scoring chances.

  • Bruins' Paille Breaks The Ice

Paille scored his first goal of the season in Thursday's 3-2 win over the Panthers.Paille's wheels are an asset on the B's effective fourth line and make him a strong penalty killer, but his offensive production bursts are generally sporadic, which limits the winger's fantasy utility.

  • Bruins' Paille Notches Goal

Paille scored the Bruins' second goal in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rangers. While manning the left wing on the Bruins' fourth line and killing penalties, Paille has recorded three goals and four points in 21 games to date. His fantasy value is limited for now, but if Paille gets a shot to play on a scoring line at any point once injuries hit the B's up front, he does have the wheels/skill to contribute more on offense.
