Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Notches three extra-base hits
Duran went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a solo home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 7-5 loss to the Rays.
Duran provided plenty of pop from the leadoff position Thursday, swatting his second homer of 2024 and generating two doubles for a second straight game. The contest was Duran's fourth game with at least three hits this season. The center fielder finished the four-game series against Tampa Bay 6-for-15 (.400) with three runs scored and five extra-base hits.

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Running less
Duran has attempted five steals over the last 35 games, after he opened the season with six steals in the first six games.
There are a few factors that explain the drop in attempts, per Alex Speier of The Boston Globe. Opposing teams became aware of Duran's potential impact, and the Red Sox have been more judicious after running into several outs early in the season. Additionally, manager Alex Cora asked Duran to run less given that he plays every day.

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Logs two hits in loss
Duran went 2-for-5 with a double and a triple in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Atlanta.
Duran's line Tuesday was similar to his previous game Sunday, when he logged a double and triple in a win over the Twins, only he didn't score against Atlanta. That's partially due to Boston's woeful 1-for-14 performance with runners in scoring position (13 LOB). Duran's done a good job of not letting any slumps linger -- the bane of his first two seasons in the majors -- and is batting .267/.339/.420 over 168 plate appearances. Tuesday's triple, his sixth, vaulted him to the top of MLB.

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Integral in win
Duran went 1-for-4 with a walk, triple and two RBI in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Cubs.
Duran tripled in two runs in the sixth inning then drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the ninth before scoring the winning run on Tyler O'Neill's walk-off single. Duran has started all 29 games thus far, including 27 of them as the team's leadoff batter. He's second on the Red Sox with 17 runs and leads the club in triples with three. Because of Ceddanne Rafaela moving from center field to shortstop, Duran is locked in as Boston's starting center fielder.
