  • Tobias Myers SP | MIL

Brewers' Tobias Myers: Sent to Triple-A

The Brewers optioned Myers to Triple-A Nashville on Saturday.

Myers was knocked around during his start against the White Sox on Friday, allowing five earned runs in just 4.1 frames, and he will now head back to Nashville in order to right the ship. The 25-year-old owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.46 WHIP through 26.2 innings across seven big-league appearances this season, though he still may be relied upon later in the year if the Brewers run into additional problems with their pitching depth. Janson Junk was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Sitting Saturday

O'Hoppe is not in the starting lineup Saturday versus the Mariners, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

  • Padres' David Peralta: Takes seat Saturday

Peralta isn't in the Padres' lineup for Saturday's game against the Royals.

  • Padres' Luis Campusano: Resting Saturday

Campusano isn't in the Padres' lineup Saturday versus Kansas City.

Blue Jays' Jordan Romano: MRI shows no structural damage

Romano (elbow) had an MRI on his right elbow Friday night, which didn't reveal any structural damage, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Romano was placed on the 15-day injured list with inflammation in his throwing elbow, but he appears to have avoided a significant injury. The 31-year-old will be shut down from throwing for a few days before Toronto will determine what direction the team will go in from there. Yimi Garcia is considered the frontrunner to operate as the closer for the Blue Jays in Romano's absence.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Remains sidelined Saturday

Donovan (neck) isn't in the Cardinals' lineup Saturday against Philadelphia.

Neck stiffness caused Donovan to be scratched from St. Louis' lineup before Friday's contest, and the issue seems to still be bothering him Saturday. Alec Burleson, Mike Siani and Dylan Carlson will start across the outfield while Donovan sits, allowing Jose Fermin to serve as the designated hitter.

Singer was scratched from his last scheduled start Thursday versus the Twins due to an illness, but he now appears to be on track to return to the mound relatively soon. The right-hander is in the midst of a career year with Kansas City, producing a 2.63 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 64 strikeouts over 61.2 innings in his first 11 starts of 2024.
