NORMAL, Ill. (AP) Keyshawn Evans and William Tinsley each drilled 3-pointers in overtime and Illinois State held on to beat Drake, 89-81 in the Redbirds home Missouri Valley Conference finale Wednesday night.

The victory pulls Illinois State into a tie with Drake for third place in the MVC standings with one game left to play. The teams split their season series.

Milik Yarbrough tied the game with 19 seconds left in regulation on a layup to make it 69-69 and Illinois State outscored the Bulldogs 20-12 in the overtime period.

Evans finished with 23 points and Yarbrough scored 22 to lead the Redbirds. Yarbrough now has 1,005 career points, with 475 coming during his time at Illinois State. Phil Fayne added 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Yarbrough and Tinsley each had 10 boards.

Illinois State (16-13, 10-7) has played five overtime games this season, winning four.

Reed Timmer scored 26 points to lead Drake (16-14, 10-7), with Graham Woodward adding 16 and Ore Arogundade contributing 13.
