  • Avalanche's Devon Toews: Pockets assist in loss

Toews posted an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.

Toews helped out on a Mikko Rantanen tally in the second period. The helper was Toews' first point over three appearances in the second round. The defenseman is up to six points, 15 shots on net, 14 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through eight playoff contests. He continues to play on the top pairing, which gives him plenty of ice time with the Avalanche's top players.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Lends helper in loss

MacKinnon supplied an assist, three shots on goal, two hits and a minus-2 rating in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.

MacKinnon was silenced in Game 2, ending an eight-game point streak. The 28-year-old was able to contribute the primary assist on Mikko Rantanen's goal in Game 3, though the Avalanche did little else on offense. MacKinnon is up to 12 points, 34 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through eight playoff contests, with six of his points coming on the power play.

  • Avalanche's Mikko Rantanen: Scores lone goal in Game 3 loss

Rantanen scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 3.

Rantanen tied the game at 1-1 in the second period, but the Avalanche couldn't build on his goal. The winger was held off the scoresheet for the first time in the playoffs in Game 2, but he bounced back well. He's produced three goals, nine assists, 21 shots on net, 14 hits, 11 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over eight postseason appearances in a top-line role.

  • Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Takes another loss

Georgiev surrendered two goals on 21 shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Stars in Game 4. The last two goals were empty-netters.

Georgiev played better than the final score would indicate, but the Stars' overall game was too much for the Avalanche to handle. He's now lost consecutive contests for the first time this postseason. The 28-year-old is 5-3 with a 2.97 GAA and an .893 save percentage over eight playoff contests -- which is fairly similar to how he performed in the regular season. The Avalanche's offense is strong enough to avoid asking Georgiev to steal games, but he will need to be just a bit sharper in Monday's Game 4 to avoid putting his team on the brink of elimination.

  • Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Set to start Saturday

Georgiev will start at home in Saturday's Game 3 against Dallas, per Tracey Myers of NHL.com.

Georgiev surrendered four goals on 31 shots en route to a 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2 on Thursday. He's 5-2 with a 3.10 GAA and an .886 save percentage in seven playoff contests this year. He struggled in the regular season, too, posting a 3.02 GAA and an .897 save percentage in 63 outings, but he still finished with an impressive 38-18-5 record thanks to the Avalanche's potent offense.

  • Avalanche's Andrew Cogliano: Bags apple in loss

Cogliano recorded an assist in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Cogliano continues to chip in offense despite limited minutes in a fourth-line role. He has a helper in five of seven playoff games, though he's still yet to record a shot on goal. The 36-year-old forward has added four hits, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating in the postseason. Cogliano likely can't keep up this pace without generating some chances of his own.

  • Avalanche's Josh Manson: Registers assist Thursday

Manson posted an assist, four hits, three blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Manson set up a Joel Kiviranta tally in the third period. The 32-year-old Manson has been surprisingly reliable on offense this postseason, earning six points with 14 shots on net, 21 hits, 13 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over seven appearances. That level of production has kept him in a top-four role for the Avalanche, and his physicality adds another layer of intrigue in his game, making him viable in DFS.

  • Avalanche's Ross Colton: Hands out helper in loss

Colton supplied an assist, five hits and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Colton snapped a three-game dry spell with the helper. He's up to four points, 12 shots on net, 27 hits, eight blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over seven playoff contests. Colton remains in a third-line role, and he's seeing more limited usage in the postseason. The 27-year-old can offer supplementary offense and plenty of physicality, however.

  • Avalanche's Casey Mittelstadt: Collects helper in loss

Mittelstadt recorded an assist in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Mittelstadt has gone six games without a goal, but he has six assists in that span. The 25-year-old is performing well from his second-line spot with seven points, 16 shots on net and a plus-4 rating over seven playoff outings. The Avalanche's top six continues to see small adjustments, but Mittelstadt has had no trouble regardless of who he's had on his wings, so he can be safely utilized in most DFS formats.

  • Avalanche's Artturi Lehkonen: Provides assist Thursday

Lehkonen notched an assist and five shots on goal in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Lehkonen's seven-game point streak ended in Tuesday's Game 1, but he was right back on the scoresheet Thursday. He helped out on a Valeri Nichushkin tally in the third period. Lehkonen is up to five goals, four assists, 27 shots on net, 12 hits and a plus-3 rating through seven playoff contests. He continues to occupy a second-line role, providing solid depth scoring to relieve some of the pressure on the Avalanche's top forwards.

  • Avalanche's Joel Kiviranta: Scores against former team

Kiviranta scored a goal on three shots, added three hits and logged two PIM in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Kiviranta returned from a three-game absence due to a lower-body injury. His goal sparked the Avalanche's comeback attempt in the third period, but the comeback fell short. The winger has two points, six shots on net, 12 hits and a plus-3 rating through four playoff appearances. He continues to occupy a bottom-six role, so his scoring contributions are likely to remain sparse.

  • Avalanche's Brandon Duhaime: Finds twine Thursday

Duhaime scored a goal and blocked two shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Duhaime earned his first point of the playoffs with a third-period goal. His last scoring contribution also came against the Stars when he had a goal and an assist April 7. The fourth-liner has four shots on net, 24 hits, six blocked shots, six PIM and a minus-1 rating through seven postseason contests -- he shouldn't be expected to put up much offense in a limited role.

  • Avalanche's Valeri Nichushkin: Keeps scoring Thursday

Nichushkin scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2.

Nichushkin's tally brought the Avalanche within a goal late in the third period, but they couldn't pull off another stunning comeback. The winger has at least one goal in all seven playoff contests so far, scoring nine times with one assist, 24 shots on net, 18 hits and a plus-3 rating over that stretch. Nichushkin was shuffled to the second line during Thursday's game, but that's unlikely to hamper his production even if it ends up being a permanent move.

  • Avalanche's Alexandar Georgiev: Drops Game 2

Georgiev allowed four goals on 30 shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Stars in Game 2. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Georgiev and the Avalanche again found themselves in a hole early on, and the comeback effort fell short this time around. Georgiev's five-game winning streak was snapped, and he's now allowed 10 goals over his last three outings. The Stars are giving him trouble early in games, though he may be able to get back on track with this second-round series shifting back to Colorado for Games 3 and 4 on Saturday and Monday, respectively.

  • Avalanche's Joel Kiviranta: Returns Thursday

Kiviranta (lower body) is expected to play in Thursday's Game 2 against Dallas, per Evan Rawal of Colorado Hockey Now.

Kiviranta missed the previous three contests because of the injury. He has an assist in three playoff outings this year and finished the regular season with three goals and nine points in 56 appearances. Kiviranta is set to play on the third line alongside Miles Wood and Ross Colton in Game 2. Chris Wagner will be a healthy scratch due to Kiviranta's return.

  • Avalanche's Jonathan Drouin: No timetable for return

Drouin is making progress in his recovery from a lower-body injury, but there's still no timetable for his return, Kyle Fredrickson of The Denver Gazette reports Thursday.

Drouin recorded 19 goals and 56 points in 79 regular-season outings in 2023-24. However, he hasn't been available in the playoffs due to the injury. If Drouin is able to return during the postseason, he will probably serve in a top-six capacity.
