Sosa went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Cubs. Sosa was able to check off his first multi-hit game and his first homer of the season in the same contest. He's gone 4-for-10 with a walk and two strikeouts over four games since he was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. Sosa is slashing .188/.235/.292 with three RBI, three runs scored and two doubles over 52 plate appearances in the majors this season. He's started three straight games at third base and will likely need to outplay only Danny Mendick to stick at the hot corner in the near term.... See More ... See Less

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Recalled from Triple-A
The White Sox recalled Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. It's the corresponding move for the demotion of Bryan Ramos, who was optioned Thursday. Sosa has struggled mightily during his time in the majors over the last three seasons, slashing just .177/.200/.304 in 75 games. Theoretically, there is playing time available on the White Sox infield, but there's no indication that Sosa will see much of it.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Heading to Triple-A
Sosa will be optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Monday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Sosa has struggled to a .132 average with 13 strikeouts over 38 at-bats in 12 contests with the White Sox this season and he'll now get a chance to reset with the Triple-A squad. Danny Mendick is expected to have his contract selected from Charlotte and join Chicago's major-league roster Monday.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Idle Saturday
Sosa isn't in the White Sox's lineup for Saturday's game against Philadelphia. Sosa is 0-for-8 in his last three games, so he'll get a chance to clear his head Saturday. While he sits, Braden Shewmake will pick up a start at third base and bat ninth.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sitting for first game of twin bill
Sosa is out of the lineup for the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Royals. Sosa will likely start in the second game of the twin bill, but he'll give way to Braden Shewmake at third base in the opening contest of the day. Since Yoan Moncada (adductor) was placed on the injured list earlier this month, Sosa has settled in as Chicago's primary option at the hot corner. He had started each of the White Sox's last six games, going 3-for-23 with a pair of doubles, a walk, an RBI and two runs.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Steps in for injured Moncada
Sosa will start at third base and bat second in Wednesday's game against the Guardians. Sosa went 1-for-5 with an RBI double and a run scored while starting at second base in Tuesday's 7-5 win, but he looks as though he could be in store for an everyday role at the hot corner moving forward. The White Sox placed Yoan Moncada on the 10-day injured list with a left adductor strain that's expected to keep him sidelined for 3-to-6 months, and Sosa will get the first chance to replace him in the lineup.... White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Batting third Tuesday
Sosa will start at second base and bat third in Tuesday's contest in Cleveland. Sosa was just recalled over the weekend and is making his second start in four games. Nicky Lopez will receive the day off.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: One hit in 2024 debut
Sosa went 1-for-3 Saturday against the Royals. Sosa was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday and was immediately penciled in at second base while hitting seventh. He accounted for one of only three hits by the White Sox, though he's likely to serve primarily as a backup across most of the infield positions. Even if Sosa does find more consistent playing time, he's managed only a .186 average across his first 209 big-league plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Recalled from Charlotte
The White Sox recalled Sosa from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday. Sosa was officially called up after the White Sox moved Luis Robert (hip) to the 10-day injured list. Sosa had a good start with Charlotte, going 8-for-24 with one home run, three RBI and five walks. He will draw the start at second base and bat seventh in Saturday's game against the Royals.... White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Promotion incoming
Sosa is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. With Eloy Jimenez (thigh) and Luis Robert (hip) both dealing with injuries, adding Sosa will give the White Sox extra depth. The 24-year-old infielder has slashed just .186/.209/.327 across 209 plate appearances in his MLB career, but he's had a hot start through five games at Charlotte, going 8-for-24 with two doubles and a homer. Sosa's bat may be useful for a White Sox offense that is suddenly without its star contributors.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: On bench again Monday
Sosa is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Nationals, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Sosa is on the bench for the fifth time in seven games and appears to have lost his grip on the everyday role at second base, with veteran Elvis Andrus re-emerging as the top option at the position. Since the beginning of September, Sosa has mustered a lowly .446 OPS in nine games.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Sitting Friday
Sosa isn't in the White Sox's lineup Friday against Detroit. Sosa will get a breather Friday after going 2-for-14 through four games to begin September. Elvis Andrus will man the keystone and bat seventh while Sosa rests.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Gets Sunday off
Sosa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Tigers. Elvis Andrus will get the start the keystone in the series finale while Sosa sits for the first time since Aug. 24. Sosa has slashed .260/.260/.500 with four home runs and nine RBI in 15 games during his latest stint with the White Sox and should be locked into a near-everyday role down the stretch while the non-contending club plays out the string in a losing season.... White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Delivers three-run homer
Sosa went 1-for-2 with a three-run home run in Sunday's 10-5 win over the Rockies. Sosa didn't start the contest, but he entered as the replacement when Elvis Andrus was ejected for yelling from the dugout. The blast was Sosa's second of the campaign, and he's gone 3-for-9 with five RBI over three games since he was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte. The infielder is at a middling .156/.167/.273 slash line with eight RBI and five runs scored over 79 plate appearances. His time as a regular in the lineup may come to a close when Tim Anderson's suspension ends Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Drives in two
Sosa went 2-for-4 with two RBI on Saturday against the Rockies. Sosa has drawn consecutive starts at second base in the absence of Tim Anderson (suspension), while Elvis Andrus has shifted to shortstop. Sosa has gotten bits of major-league experience in the last two seasons but has struggled significantly in both stints. His effort Saturday was encouraging -- it was his third multi-hit performance in 35 career games -- though it did come at Coors Field. Once Anderson is reinstated, Sosa is likely to lose playing time and potentially his roster spot.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Getting call Friday
Sosa is expected to be called up to the White Sox on Friday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. The 23-year-old can help fill in at shortstop while Tim Anderson serves his five-game suspension for brawling with Jose Ramirez earlier this month. Sosa has flashed good power in the minors but holds a career .126/.143/.223 batting line in 106 major-league plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Optioned to Triple-A
Sosa was optioned Friday to Triple-A Charlotte. Sosa gets the boot to clear out a 26-man roster spot for Yoan Moncada, who has been activated following a four-week absence with a lower-back injury. Sosa, 23, is slashing just .132/.145/.221 in 70 plate appearances this season at the major-league level.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Covering second base
Sosa is starting at second base and hitting ninth for the White Sox on Thursday in Kansas City. It's his third start since he was recalled a week ago. Sosa has just one hit in 11 at-bats over that span as he continues to scuffle at the dish with the big club.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Recalled from Triple-A
Sosa was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte by the White Sox on Thursday. He was just optioned Monday but is back to take the spot of the injured Jake Burger (oblique). Sosa is getting a start at second base Thursday.... See More ... See Less -
White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Making fifth straight start
Sosa is starting at second base and batting eighth for the White Sox in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Phillies. It's the fifth straight start for Sosa, who is 3-for-16 with a home run in his previous four contests. The 23-year-old is one of the White Sox' better prospects and is worth using in deeper fantasy leagues while he's playing regularly, although that might only be the case while Tim Anderson (knee) is out....
