Hunt was assigned to AHL Colorado on Friday.
Hunt, who last played April 13 against Winnipeg, had been serving as an extra blueliner during the playoffs for the Avalanche. He may get into the lineup at the minor-league level Sunday in postseason action versus Coachella Valley.
