Tillery is set to be released by the Raiders on Wednesday, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Tillery signed a two-year, $6.8 million contract with the Raiders in March of 2023, appearing in all 17 of the team's games in 2023, recording 31 tackles, including 2.0 sacks, while also recovering a fumble. His release will create $3.8 million in cap space for Las Vegas, which will enter the new league year Wednesday with up to $50 million in overall cap space.... See More ... See Less

Jerry Tillery: Let go by Bolts
The Chargers waived Tillery (back) on Thursday. Tillery was dropped by the Chargers after he missed last Sunday's win over the Falcons with a back injury, and he will now pass through waivers before becoming a free agent, should he go unclaimed. The 2019 first-round pick collected a career-high 51 tackles and 4.5 sacks over 16 games last season, but he recorded just eight tackles, one sack and one forced fumble through the first seven games of 2022. Tillery was also on pace to play his fewest number of defensive snaps since the 2019 campaign, so his absence shouldn't affect the Chargers' defense much moving forward.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Won't play Sunday
Tillery (back) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup against the Falcons. After missing the first two practices of Week 9 prep, Tillery returned in a limited fashion Friday but will still miss Sunday's contest due to a back injury. In his absence, Morgan Fox, Otito Ogbonnia and Jeremiah Attaochu are candidates for increased roles.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Returns from COVID list
Tillery was activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports. Tillery missed Week 11 as a result of testing positive for the illness. He will return to his regular starting role on the Chargers defensive line.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Flashes first-round talent
Tillery posted 17 tackles (nine solo) and two sacks in his rookie campaign. Tillery played just 360 defensive snaps due in large part to the Chargers' depth along the defensive line, but the 2019 first-round pick at times exploded off the tape, working in tandem with feared defensive ends Melvin Ingram and Joey Bosa to create havoc in the middle of the pocket. Tillery should continue to see more time at defensive tackle in the coming seasons, particularly with a number of interior defensive linemen potentially not returning following a disappointing 2019 season.... Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Unable to practice
Tillery (shoulder) did not practice Friday during the team's rookie minicamp, Eric D. Williams of ESPN.comreports. Tillery had surgery in March to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder, so it makes sense that he'd be unable to practice, particularly given his 3-to-4 month recovery timeline. Expect the 2019 first-round pick to be available come the start of the team's official training camp in August.... See More ... See Less -
Chargers' Jerry Tillery: Joins Chargers' loaded front
The Chargers selected Tillery (torn labrum) in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 28th overall. Los Angeles gets more ammo for an already loaded front by adding Tillery out of Notre Dame. At 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds with 34 1/4-inch arms, Tillery is a long-levered athlete who bolstered his stock with a strong combine that was highlighted by a 4.93 40-yard dash and a 4.33-second short shuttle. His frame doesn't project well to play on the interior, but he did his best work outside the guard and outside the tackle at Notre Dame anyway. He figures to be a rotational piece behind Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram to start his career, but don't be surprised if he carves out a significant role for the Chargers before long.... See More ...
