Garcia started in right field and went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Diamondbacks. This was Garcia's first start in the outfield since missing two games due to a forearm injury. He's gone 3-for-23 (.130) with a home run, a double and two RBI since his return.... See More ... See Less

Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Not playing field yet
Garcia served as the designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Phillies. Garcia made a second consecutive start at DH after missing two games with a right forearm injury. It's unclear when he will resume defensive duties, but as long as he's contributing at the plate, that shouldn't matter much. The home run was the team-leading 12th for Garcia, who also leads the Rangers with 36 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Back in lineup Wednesday
Garcia (forearm) will serve as the Rangers' designated hitter and cleanup batter in Wednesday's game against the Phillies. The Rangers held Garcia out of the lineup for the past two games while he contended with right forearm discomfort, but he's made enough improvement to enter the starting nine Wednesday, albeit in a non-defensive role. Provided the injury doesn't affect his throwing for too much longer, Garcia should be ready to return to his usual spot in right field in the coming days.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Imaging comes back clean
Garcia (forearm) underwent imaging on his forearm Sunday, which came back clean according to manager Bruce Bochy, Jeff Wilson of RangersToday.com reports. Garcia was scratched from the lineup ahead of Sunday's series finale with the Angels due to right forearm discomfort, but he appears to have avoided any sort of significant injury. The team has an off day Monday, so the outfielder's next opportunity to return to the lineup will come Tuesday on the road versus the Phillies.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Scratched due forearm issue
Garcia was scratched from the lineup for Sunday's game against the Angels due to a right forearm injury, and he's scheduled to undergo an MRI, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. The 31-year-old suffered the injury Saturday in a collision with Marcus Semien and will be sidelined for at least one game. There's optimism Garcia will be available following Monday's team off day, and his status should be updated after the MRI.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Clubs homer Saturday
Garcia went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings win over the Angels. This was Garcia's third homer in his last four games and his 11th long ball of the campaign. The outfielder is hitting just .190 (8-for-42) over his last 10 contests, but five of his hits in that span have gone for extra bases. He's slashing .251/.297/.491 with 35 RBI, 24 runs scored, four stolen bases and nine doubles through 46 games as the Rangers' usual cleanup hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Slugs 10th homer
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Guardians. Garcia has homered in back-to-back games, giving him 10 long balls on the year. Prior to Tuesday, he had gone 19 games without a multi-hit effort, batting a meager .153 (11-for-72) in that span. That slump took the shine off his hot start to the campaign, but the outfielder is still slashing .259/.306/.494 with 34 RBI, 23 runs scored, four stolen bases and nine doubles over 44 contests this season.... Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Snaps out of funk
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Guardians. Garcia entered Tuesday's game batting .154 in May but delivered his first homer since April 28 and his first multi-hit game since April 21. Even with the cold spell, Garcia is slashing .247/.297/.449 across 175 plate appearances with a .202 ISO, numbers which aren't too far off his 2022 and 2023 numbers.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Goes deep in win
Garcia went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Reds. Garcia opened up the scoring in Sunday's contest, taking Andrew Abbott deep for a two-run shot with two outs in the bottom of the first inning, driving in teammate Nathaniel Lowe in the process. The long ball was his eighth of the season and third in his last six contests. The outfielder is now batting .291 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 19 runs scored and four stolen bases over 103 at-bats in 28 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Not starting Saturday
Garcia is not in the Rangers' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds. Garcia will begin Saturday's game in the dugout. His last rest day was April 16 against the Tigers, though he did pinch hit for Jared Walsh in the ninth inning. Lefty-hitting Travis Jankowski will start in right field Saturday and bat eighth against Reds right-hander Hunter Greene.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Goes deep in win
Garcia went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's win over Atlanta. Garcia launched a home run off Tyler Matzek in the eighth to extend the Rangers' lead to 6-3. His deep blast wound up being the difference in the game, as he continues to provide timely hits with seven RBI over his last five games. The 31-year-old has been one of the better hitters in baseball early on, slashing .326/.368/.616 with six homers, 22 RBI, 16 runs, four steals and a 6:22 BB:K in 95 plate appearances.... See More ... Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Homers Thursday
Garcia went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 9-7 win over Detroit. Garcia put the Rangers ahead 5-4 in the third inning, blasting a solo shot off Kenta Maeda, his fifth of the year. Garcia had cooled off a bit after a torrid start this season, going 2-for-12 in four games prior to Thursday's contest. The 31-year-old outfielder is now slashing .311/.361/.568 with 18 RBI, 14 runs scored and four steals through his first 20 games on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Sitting out Tuesday
Garcia is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game in Detroit. The Rangers and Tigers are playing a day game after a night game, offering an opportunity to give Garcia a breather. Evan Carter will slide over to right field and Wyatt Langford will handle left.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Fills stat sheet
Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBI, two runs scored, two steals and two walks in Friday's win over Houston. Garcia has already belted four home runs this season but chose to flash his speed and on-base skills instead Friday. The 31-year-old slugger has just four multi-hit games so far this season despite an impressive .315/.377/.593 slash line. Garcia has two extra-base hits -- both doubles -- over his last seven appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Reaches four times Wednesday
Garcia went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a run, two RBI and a stolen base in a 6-2 victory against the Athletics on Wednesday. Garcia posted his first three-hit effort of the campaign, and among those knocks was a fourth-inning, two-run single that plated Texas' final tallies of the game. The All-Star outfielder has notched at least one hit in 10 of his 12 games so far this season, leading to a strong .292/.340/.604 slash line through 53 plate appearances. Garcia has added four homers, 13 RBI, nine runs and two thefts.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Power bat early
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Monday's 9-3 win over Tampa Bay. Garcia's power bat has been on display early for the Rangers. Three of his four hits this season have cleared fences, and he leads Texas with six RBI through four games. One development that could impact Garcia going forward is the wrist injury suffered by Josh Jung, who provided support behind Garcia in the order. Jung was off to a fast start with a 1.415 OPS and four extra-base hits prior to getting hit by a pitch on the wrist in the ninth inning Monday. Pitchers weren't able to pitch around Garcia, knowing an equally fearsome hitter awaited.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Homers, steals base in win
Garcia went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 11-2 win over the Cubs. Garcia went deep on Opening Day and added a second home run in as many games when he took Kyle Hendricks deep in the second inning Saturday. He also added a stolen base later in the contest, a good sign after he fell off to just nine steals last season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Homers in debut
Garcia started at designated hitter and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's spring game against Colorado. Garcia made his Cactus League debut and homered in his second at-bat. He'd been dealing with an oblique strain, which kept him out of the first 12 Cactus League games, but he's been getting plate appearances in during B games and working on his swing. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy told Kennedi Landry of MLB.com that he expects Garcia to play in the field soon.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Inks two-year pact with Texas
Garcia signed a two-year, $14 million contract with the Rangers on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports. The two sides had been scheduled for an arbitration hearing Thursday, but that will no longer be necessary. Heyman says Garcia can push his total earnings over the two years to $20.25 million if he reaches incentives. The outfielder will be under team control for one additional year in 2026, as well, before reaching free agency. Garcia slashed .245/.328/.508 with 39 home runs in 2023 and added an additional eight long balls during the postseason.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Removed from World Series roster
The Rangers removed Garcia (oblique) from their World Series roster Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports. Garcia was diagnosed with a moderate strain of his left oblique Friday after making an early exit from Game 3 following a swing in the eighth inning. He will now miss the remainder of the Fall Classic, and Ezequiel Duran will replace Garcia on Texas' roster for the remainder of the series. Travis Jankowski will start Game 4 in right field Tuesday in Garcia's absence.... See More ... See Less
