Giants' Michael Conforto: Beginning rehab assignment Friday
Conforto (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Conforto continues to work his way back from a right hamstring strain that he sustained May 11 against the Reds. Before landing on the IL, Conforto was slashing .280/.331/.490 with seven home runs and 20 RBI over 154 plate appearances. He may only need a few rehab appearances before being activated.

Giants' Michael Conforto: Nearing rehab assignment
Conforto (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment later this week, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Conforto was cleared to resume baseball activities last week as he works his way back from a right hamstring strain, although it's uncertain whether he's done any running yet. He's been on the shelf for a little more than two weeks and shouldn't need too many rehab games before being activated, assuming all goes well.

Giants' Michael Conforto: Cleared for batting practice
Conforto (hamstring) has been cleared to take on-field batting practice, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Conforto landed on the 10-day injured list just over a week ago a right hamstring strain. Taking batting practice is certainly a positive step in his recovery, although running will be a bigger hurdle for him to clear and it's uncertain when he might be ready for that. Conforto is eligible for activation Wednesday, but it would appear he'll need a little more time than that.

Giants' Michael Conforto: Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Giants placed Conforto on the 10-day injured list Sunday due to a right hamstring strain.
After Conforto left in the fourth inning of Saturday's win against the Reds, the hope was that the right hamstring strain was mild enough for the 31-year-old to be considered day-to-day. The MRI on Sunday revealed a more severe strain, and Conforto will be sidelined until at least May 22. In a corresponding move, the Giants recalled Luis Matos from Triple-A Sacremento.

Conforto (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against the Reds, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Conforto left in the bottom of the fourth inning in Saturday's 5-1 win, and Giants manager Bob Melvin described the right hamstring strain as "mild," per John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle. With Conforto out of the lineup Sunday, Heliot Ramos will start in left field while Patrick Bailey serves as the designated hitter.
