Flames' Matthew Coronato: Finds twine in win
Coronato scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Coyotes. Coronato was able to turn a Coyotes turnover into a game-tying goal in the first period. The 21-year-old winger hadn't scored since March 14, and he posted just two assists over 11 outings in that span. He's gone through some growing pains at the NHL level this season with eight points, 54 shots on net and a minus-17 rating across 32 appearances. Coronato will likely remain in a bottom-six role to close out the 2023-24 campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Generates helper Tuesday
Coronato notched an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Sharks. Coronato set up Rasmus Andersson's second-period tally. This was Coronato's first point in seven games since he rejoined the lineup after a two-game stint as a healthy scratch. The 21-year-old winger has seven points, 50 shots on net and a minus-15 rating over 29 NHL appearances this season. He's not much of an option for fantasy managers in redraft formats, but the 2021 first-round pick should still be viewed positively in dynasty formats.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Supplies assist in loss
Coronato notched an assist in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals. Coronato helped out on Kevin Rooney's tally in the second period. With three points over his last seven contests, Coronato has done well despite seeing limited ice time in a bottom-six role. The rookie winger is at six points, 43 shots on net and a minus-10 rating over 22 appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Buries goal Thursday
Coronato scored a goal on four shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Golden Knights. Coronato has two points and a minus-2 rating over five games since he was recalled from AHL Calgary. The 21-year-old winger provided an insurance tally in the third period Thursday. He's been in a third-line role since rejoining the big club, which gives the Flames a chance to shelter him a bit. He's up to two goals, five points, 42 shots on net and a minus-10 rating through 20 appearances on the year.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Heads to minors
Coronato was assigned to AHL Calgary in a paper transaction Friday, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. Coronato is only being assigned to the minors on paper in order to make him eligible for the AHL playoffs, so look for him to be promoted prior to Saturday's game against Florida. The 21-year-old winger has picked up two assists through his last five NHL appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Snags helper
Coronato notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 6-3 win over the Lightning. Coronato got into the lineup Thursday due to Martin Pospisil (suspension) being out. The 21-year-old Coronato played on the third line, logging 11:57 of ice time and chipping in with a helper on Yegor Sharangovich's second tally of the game. Coronato has four points over 16 NHL appearances, and he could get a longer look toward the end of the season. He's added 36 shots on net and a minus-5 rating, so he may be best deployed with favorable zone starts.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Elevated from minors
Coronato was recalled from AHL Calgary on Monday. Coronato could be pressed into service versus the Kraken on Monday after Connor Zary sustained an upper-body injury, though Walker Duehr could also be an option. For his part, the 21-year-old Coronato has played in just 15 NHL games this season in which he generated one goal, two assists and 34 shots. He's been significantly more productive in the minors, racking up 15 goals and 27 helpers in 40 games with the Wranglers.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Shifts to AHL
Coronato was reassigned to AHL Calgary following Saturday's 1-0 win over the Blackhawks. Coronato had one assist over four games during his latest stint in the NHL. This is likely a move to keep him in a playing rhythm during the Flames' bye week. Look for the 21-year-old to return to the NHL ahead of the team's next game Feb. 6 versus the Bruins.... Flames' Matthew Coronato: Provides helper Thursday
Coronato notched an assist and three shots on goal in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Blue Jackets. Coronato got on the scoresheet for the first time in three games since he was recalled from AHL Calgary. The 21-year-old winger set up a Connor Zary goal in the first period as the two rookie forwards flanked Nazem Kadri on the second line. Coronato has three points, 32 shots on net and a minus-8 rating through 14 appearances, but he could find some success if he sticks in a top-six role.... See More ... See Less -

In his 11 NHL games this season, the 21-year-old Coronato has managed just one goal despite 24 shots on net.... See More ... See Less -
Flames' Matthew Coronato: Recalled from AHL
Per Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan, Coronato was recalled from AHL Calgary on Saturday. Coronato started the season with the Flames, picking up a goal and an assist in 10 games. The Flames sent him to the minors Nov. 3 and he responded with a huge effort, scoring eight goals and adding 10 assists in 14 games with AHL Calgary. The Flames selected Coronato with the 13th pick in the 2021 Draft, and they hope the diminutive winger will provide them with some goal scoring, as they sit tied for 21st in goals with 76 in the NHL.... Coronato was reassigned to AHL Calgary on Friday, Ryan Pike of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports. Coronato had only a goal and an assist in 10 games with the Flames.
