  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Gathers first catch of campaign

Hyatt caught one of four targets for six yards in Sunday's Week 6 loss to Cincinnati. For the second straight week, Hyatt logged a healthy offensive snap count (81 percent Sunday after 68 percent Week 5) with Malik Nabers (concussion) unable to suit up. The increased opportunities haven't amounted to much production, however. After failing to get even a target last week, Hyatt got only four against the Bengals and made just one catch for a small gain. It's clear at this point that the second-year wideout isn't in sync with QB Daniel Jones or New York's offensive game plan as a whole even when he's on the field, and Hyatt could fall back to a minimal snap count Week 7 versus Philadelphia if Nabers is able to return.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Logs 48 snaps without target

Hyatt did not receive a target or carry in Sunday's 29-20 Week 5 win over Seattle. With Malik Nabers (concussion) unable to suit up for the contest, it was expected that Hyatt would get more of an opportunity to produce after topping out at just 15 offensive snaps over his first four games. That opportunity did come to pass -- Hyatt was on the field for 48 of New York's 72 offensive snaps -- but production did not follow, as he wasn't targeted for the second time this season. Hyatt was selected in the third round of the 2023 Draft to help boost what was then an unexciting receiving corps, but he caught just 23 passes (on 40 targets) over 17 regular-season games as a rookie and now appears to be almost completely an afterthought in the Giants' passing game. Given his performance Sunday, there's little reason for fantasy managers to consider starting him Week 6 against Cincinnati even if Nabers is held out again.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: One target in Week 4

Hyatt failed to catch his only target in Thursday's 20-15 loss to the Cowboys. Hyatt remained a non-factor for the Giants in Week 4, playing just 13 of the team's 69 offensive snaps. The wide receiver's lack of production against Dallas is rather disheartening knowing that Daniel Jones attempted 40 passes in the contest. Hyatt appears to be an afterthought in New York's offense early in 2024, buried beneath Malik Nabers (concussion), Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton at wide receiver.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Shut out in Week 3 win

Hyatt got just one target, which he didn't catch, in a 21-15 victory against the Browns on Sunday. After Friday's practice, Hyatt refuted a recent report that he requested a trade late this summer, per Tom Canavan of the Associated Press. It's unclear if the rumblings had any impact on his playing time Sunday. Though he logged a season-low 10 offensive snaps, that number wasn't much different than the 15 and 11 he played in Weeks 1 and 2, respectively. Hyatt has drawn just two targets so far this season, neither of which has resulted in a catch. For the time being, he seems to be buried on the wideout depth chart behind Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton (thumb). However, if Slayton's injury causes him to miss any games, Hyatt could see an uptick in opportunity.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Requested trade during summer

Hyatt requested a trade from the Giants during the summer, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. As Raanan tells it, Hyatt was unhappy with his standing on the depth chart and said during a practice late in the summer that if the team wasn't going to use him, they should trade him. Through two games, Hyatt has ran just 14 pass routes -- seventh-most on the team -- and appears buried just one year after the team used the 73rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft on the wideout. Coach Brian Daboll has stressed to Hyatt that his time is coming, but he's running as the distant fourth receiver behind Malik Nabers, Darius Slayton and slot man Wan'Dale Robinson. It wouldn't be a shock to see Hyatt supplant Slayton in the near future, but it's clear Hyatt is frustrated at the moment.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Minimal action in preseason opener

Hyatt caught his only target for no gain in Thursday's 14-3 preseason win over the Lions. Hyatt's lone target came from Drew Lock (hip) on the opening drive. Rookie sixth overall pick Malik Nabers wasn't targeted at all on his 12 snaps in the game, so neither of the young speedsters made much of an impact Thursday. Hyatt's coming off a 373-yard rookie season, and the 2023 third-round draft pick is trying to carve out a larger role in 2024. The Giants' second preseason game will be next Saturday in Houston.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Bumps down depth chart

Hyatt is expected to be the Giants' top backup wide receiver in 2024 following the team's selection of Malik Nabers with the No. 6 overall pick in last week's draft, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. Hyatt injured his hamstring in the season finale against the Eagles, but he's presumably made a full recovery by now. He's coming off a rookie season in which he secured 23 of 40 targets for 373 scoreless yards over 17 games. He averaged a strong 16.2 yards per catch, but the number of catchable passes thrown his way were few and far between as a downfield threat. Darius Slayton is expected to open the season as a starter opposite Nabers, with Wan'Dale Robinson in the slot. The Giants would likely prefer to see Hyatt push Slayton for snaps.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Injures hamstring Sunday

Hyatt (hamstring) won't return to Sunday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Hyatt sustained a hamstring injury on a five-yard catch in the first half and will not return to Sunday's contest. He will finish his rookie season with 23 catches for 373 yards over 17 games.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Tallies 25 receiving yards Week 17

Hyatt caught three of four targets for 25 yards in Sunday's loss to the Rams. After being shut out each of the past two weeks, Hyatt bounced back to some extent with his highest receiving yardage total since he exploded for 109 yards against New England in Week 12. It was still a modest performance for the rookie wideout, as he tied for fifth on the team in catches and ranked fifth in receiving yards. Hyatt will have a chance to put a positive final spin on his first NFL campaign next week in a home matchup against the Eagles.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Shut out in Week 16 loss

Hyatt was not targeted in the passing game in the Giants' loss to Philadelphia on Monday. Hyatt logged 35 offensive snaps -- 56 percent of the team's total -- Monday, third-highest among Giants receivers. However, he didn't see the ball come his way a single time, marking the fourth time this season that he's failed to draw any targets. It was also the second straight week without a catch for the rookie, and he's accumulated just two catches for 13 yards over his past three games after flashing his potential with a five-catch, 109-yard effort against the Patriots in Week 12. Hyatt has been on the field enough to make an impact this season, but with his inconsistency magnified by poor quarterback play, he's been a non-factor in most fantasy formats.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: First 100-yard game of NFL career

Hyatt caught five of six targets for 109 yards in Sunday's 10-7 win over the Patriots. Hyatt got free downfield for catches of 29 and 41 yards en route to a career high in receiving yards. Fellow deep threat Darius Slayton (neck) was active after being doubtful heading into Sunday's game but was limited to 16 yards on three targets while Hyatt capitalized on his increased role with the best game of his rookie season. The Giants' third-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft (73rd overall) will look to build on this promising performance in Week 14 against the Packers following a Week 13 bye.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Good to go vs. Commanders

Hyatt has cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against Washington, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. Hyatt was placed in the concussion protocol after this past Sunday's 49-17 loss to the Cowboys, but he has recovered in time to face the Commanders in Week 11. The rookie wide receiver has a pair of catches over 40 yards among his 11 receptions this season, but Hyatt will be catching passes from third-string quarterback Tommy DeVito on Sunday.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Progressing through concussion protocol

Hyatt (concussion) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Hyatt suffered a concussion this past Sunday at Dallas, and after kicking off Week 11 prep with no on-field work Wednesday, he made noticeable progress one day later by putting in some work. Still, he likely has multiple steps to take in his quest through the protocol for head injuries, the last of which will be gaining clearance from an independent neurologist. Hyatt will need to do so by Saturday in order to be available Sunday in Washington.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Misses practice Wednesday

Hyatt (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Hyatt entered the concussion protocol in the second half of Sunday's 49-17 loss to the Cowboys, making his status for Week 11 against the Commanders uncertain. The rookie third-round pick will need to clear the five-step protocol before being allowed to resume game action.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Won't return Sunday

Hyatt won't return to Sunday's game against the Cowboys due to a concussion, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Hyatt went to the locker room in the second half of Sunday's matchup and will be unavailable down the stretch due to his concussion. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available for next Sunday's game against the Commanders.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Posts another quiet effort

Hyatt finished Sunday's Week 9 loss to the Raiders with two catches on five targets for 19 yards. Hyatt's five targets tied for second on the team, but those opportunities yielded limited production. The rookie speedster did at least manage to turn things around a bit after he failed to garner a target at all last week against the Jets, but Hyatt's role and performance continue to be volatile. He has failed to register a catch in four contests this season, but Hyatt also posted an 89-yard effort in Week 2 against Arizona and a 75-yard performance in Week 7 against Washington. Daniel Jones may have suffered a season-ending knee injury Sunday, leaving the Giants' already struggling passing game potentially in the hands of rookie UDFA Tommy DeVito and/or veteran backup Matt Barkley. That doesn't help Hyatt's outlook, but even with Jones under center the young wideout hasn't been able to put up the type of consistent numbers that would make him a reliable fantasy asset.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Week 8 Waiver Priority List

It feels like Hyatt is the next rookie receiver on the verge of breaking out, and I'm excited to see what he can do with more targets. In his past two games with Tyrod Taylor under center for the Giants, Hyatt has five catches for 96 yards on nine targets. His big-play ability was on display against Washington in Week 7 with two catches for 75 yards, and we'll see how Hyatt does once Daniel Jones (neck) is healthy. Hyatt has played at least 71 percent of the snaps in each of the past two games, and hopefully bigger stat lines will start to happen. He's worth stashing in all leagues for up to 5 percent of your FAB.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Big-play threat in Sunday's win

Hyatt caught two of five targets for 75 yards in Sunday's 14-7 win over the Commanders. The rookie caught passes of 33 and 42 yards while flashing the speed that caused the Giants to trade up in this year's draft to select him in the third round. Hyatt doesn't offer much more than the ability to stretch the field at this stage of his career, but four of his first nine NFL receptions have gone for 30 yards or more. Regardless of whether Daniel Jones (neck) or Tyrod Taylor is under center in Week 8, Hyatt could have a hard time making an impact against a stingy Jets secondary.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Stashes (WR Preview)

Hyatt flashed in Week 6 and his speed gives the Giants a downfield element they are desperately missing. You can't start him with any confidence until he becomes a full-time player, but that's the logical next step with the way the Giants season is going.

  • Giants' Jalin Hyatt: Sees more work with minor impact

Hyatt caught three of four targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 14-9 loss to the Bills. Hyatt played on 73 percent of New York's offensive snaps, the highest mark of his career thus far. His three catches also were a campaign high, though he was able to turn the receptions into only 21 yards. The rookie looked like he could emerge as the Giants' much-needed deep threat when he caught two passes for 89 yards Week 2 against Arizona, but his other five receptions this season have gone for just 31 combined yards. While the increased snap count Sunday is an encouraging sign for his outlook going forward, the Giants' passing game as a whole has struggled this season, and Hyatt has yet to put up the type of production that should inspire confidence in fantasy managers.
