  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Stays limited in practice

Bigsby (ankle) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice. Both Bigsby and Travis Etienne (hamstring) have had their reps capped in the Jaguars' first two Week 9 practices, leaving the statuses of the two running backs tentatively in question for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Though head coach Doug Pederson has previously said that he views Etienne as the team's starter when both are healthy, Bigsby may have earned himself a larger share of the snaps and touches out of the backfield based on how he's performed the past two weeks. With Etienne missing both of those contests, Bigsby has stepped in as the Jaguars' lead back and has scored two touchdowns and has averaged 4.5 yards per carry on 44 totes while chipping in two receptions for eight yards on four targets.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: RBs to Sit

Travis Etienne (hamstring) could return in Week 9 after sitting out the past two games, and he should take work away from Bigsby in some capacity. He has at least 20 total touches in both games without Etienne, and Bigsby is averaging 17.2 PPR points over that span. This week, I would avoid Bigsby and Etienne against the Eagles, who are No. 6 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs. No running back has gained more than 49 yards on the ground in the past four games against Philadelphia, and the Eagles have allowed just two running backs to score over that span. Bigsby and Etienne are flex options at best in all leagues in Week 9.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Limited by ankle issue

Bigsby was a limited participant at practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury. Both of the Jaguars' top two running backs were limited to begin Week 9 prep, as Travis Etienne (hamstring) also operated with a cap on his reps after missing the past two games. Head coach Doug Pederson said Wednesday that he "feels good" about Etienne's chances of playing Sunday against the Eagles, which could set the stage for a backfield timeshare between Bigsby and Etienne in Week 9, provided Bigsby's ankle issue doesn't affect his availability. While Etienne was sidelined the past two weeks, D'Ernest Johnson operated as the Jaguars' primary passing-down back, but Bigsby served as the clear lead runner (44 carries for 196 yards and two touchdowns).

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Gains 86 yards on 20 touches

Bigsby rushed 18 times for 78 yards while catching two of three targets for eight yards in Sunday's 30-27 loss to Green Bay. Bigsby served as the Jaguars' top back after Travis Etienne (hamstring) was deemed inactive prior to Sunday's kickoff. The 23-year-old Bigsby churned out a decent fantasy performance off of 20 touches, which bodes well for his already rising value heading into Week 9. Bigsby should remain a significant part of Jacksonville's offense heading into next Sunday's tilt against Philadelphia, irrespective of Etienne's status for that contest.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Appears headed for another start

Bigsby is expected to serve as the Jaguars' lead option out of the backfield Sunday against the Packers with Travis Etienne (hamstring) listed as questionable for the contest but considered a longshot to play, sources tell Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. While serving as a backup to Etienne in the Jaguars' first six games, Bigsby shined in a supporting role, as the second-year back averaged 7.2 yards over his 41 carries during that stretch. He continued to excel while seeing his biggest workload to date in the Jaguars' Week 7 win over the Patriots in London, carrying 26 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns. With Etienne trending toward another absence, Bigsby could be in store for another hefty touch count, though the Jaguars' reluctance to use him on passing downs makes Bigsby somewhat game-script sensitive. If the 2-5 Jaguars were to fall behind early by multiple scores against the 5-2 Packers and make the running game a lesser priority, Bigsby -- who has drawn just two targets all season -- could cede considerable playing time to D'Ernest Johnson.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Stars in starting role

Bigsby rushed 26 times for 118 yards and two touchdowns and failed to bring in his only target during the Jaguars' 32-16 win over the Patriots on Sunday in London. With Travis Etienne (hamstring) inactive, Bigsby had an opportunity to handle a lead-back role that he already seemed to be building toward in recent games. The second-year back did not disappoint with the expanded opportunity, rounding out his second career 100-yard effort, both of which have come in the last three games, with touchdown runs of one and four yards in the second and fourth quarters, respectively. Given his showing Sunday and the lingering nature of hamstring injuries, Bigsby could well helm the ground attack again in a Week 8 home matchup against the Packers.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Expanded role looming

Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said that Bigsby is in line to take on a greater role out of the backfield for Sunday's game against the Patriots in London due to Travis Etienne (hamstring) set to be inactive for the contest, Steve Wyche of NFL Network reports. Though Pederson noted that Etienne had a good week of practice before being listed as questionable heading into Sunday, the 2021 first-round draft pick ultimately couldn't shake off the hamstring injury he sustained in the Jaguars' Week 6 loss to the Bears. While Pederson is seemingly leaving the door open for Etienne to return to the lineup Week 8 versus the Packers, his absence Sunday likely leaves the door open for Bigsby to serve as the Jaguars' top option on the ground. D'Ernest Johnson is expected to have a sizable role of his own -- likely as Jacksonville's top passing-down back -- but in non-PPR formats especially, Bigsby still profiles as a strong lineup option for Week 7. Even while working behind Etienne this season, Bigsby has flashed over his 80 snaps through six games, carrying 41 times for 297 yards (7.2 average) and two touchdowns. A workload of 10-to-15 carries could be enough for Bigsby to produce a useful line for fantasy managers.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Modest numbers in London loss

Bigsby rushed seven times for 24 yards in the Jaguars' 35-16 loss to the Bears on Sunday in London. He also returned three kickoffs for 102 yards and committed a fumble recovered by Jacksonville. Bigsby had an opportunity for an expanded role when Travis Etienne exited the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury, but game script turned completely against the run as the second half unfolded. The second-year back's pedestrian numbers were highly disappointing in the context of his previous two games, when he'd appeared on the verge of usurping his teammate for the lead-back role by recording 191 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries, as well as a 28-yard reception. However, with Etienne potentially sitting out next Sunday's matchup against the Patriots in London, Bigsby could be poised to enjoy conditions much more conducive for fantasy-friendly production.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: RBs to Start

We'll see how the touches are split between Bigsby and Travis Etienne this week, but both could be useful as No. 2 running backs against the Bears. First, we have to see what happens with Etienne and his shoulder injury, but the Jaguars should continue to ride the hot hand with Bigsby as a rusher. He had seven carries for 90 yards in Week 4 at Houston and then exploded for 13 carries for 101 yards and two touchdowns and one catch for 28 yards in Week 5 against Indianapolis. If Etienne is out then Bigsby would have top-10 upside, but he's no worse than a flex if Etienne plays. The Bears are No. 10 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and four running backs this season, including three in a row, have scored at least 18.4 PPR points.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Week 6 Adds (RB Preview)

There should be no doubt that Bigsby is a must-add running back, but I was more excited about before I heard Doug Pederson talk. Travis Etienne is still very much the starter in Jacksonville and Bigsby is going to have to earn his touches on a weekly basis. I also don't believe there's much Bigsby can do to earn the work in the passing game, which is going to limit his upside in full PPR. He's a flex unless Etienne misses time.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Still limited at practice

Bigsby (shoulder) remained limited at practice Thursday. As did fellow RB Travis Etienne (shoulder), which sets the stage for Friday's practice to add key context regarding the duo's Week 5 availability. Unless he manages to practice fully, however, Bigsby will presumably carry an injury designation into the weekend.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Limited due to shoulder injury

Bigsby (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports. Bigsby has been playing through the shoulder injury since it limited him to only special-teams snaps in a Week 2 loss to Cleveland. He received just seven snaps on offense and two carries Week 3 at Buffalo, but an opportunity opened up Week 4 at Houston, when Travis Etienne suffered a shoulder injury of his own. Although Etienne ultimately returned to the game and led the backfield with 52 percent snap share and 11 carries, it was Bigsby who had the more productive outing, turning 17 snaps into seven carries for 90 yards. Both running backs are now listed as limited practice participants due to shoulder injuries, suggesting that both should be able to play this Sunday against the Colts, albeit perhaps at less than 100 percent. Etienne is faster, quicker and has superior pass-game skills, but Bigsby is making a strong case for a steady role of his own with three gains of 20-plus yards among his 21 carries this season.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Leading rusher in loss

Bigsby carried the ball seven times for 90 yards in Sunday's 24-20 loss to the Texans. Travis Etienne missed most of the first quarter with a shoulder injury, but Bigsby's biggest gain came in the third as he rumbled for 58 yards on a drive that stalled on Houston's goal line. Etienne didn't play poorly when he was on the field, turning 12 touches into 60 scrimmage yards, but Bigsby's performance could encourage the winless Jaguars to shake things up and go with more of a backfield timeshare in Week 5 against the Colts. The second-year back's touch volume could ultimately depend on Etienne's health, however.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Limited in practice again

Bigsby (shoulder) remained limited in Thursday's practice. Bigsby managed to play through his lingering shoulder injury during Jacksonville's 47-10 loss to the Bills on Monday, but he's since logged back-to-back limited practice sessions. If the No. 2 running back can gain clearance to suit up for Sunday's pivotal divisional matchup against the Texans, Bigsby will once gain be positioned to act as the primary backup to starting running back Travis Etienne.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Quiet in loss

Bigsby rushed twice for nine yards in Monday's 47-10 loss to the Bills. Bigsby was mostly an afterthought in what ended up being a rough day for the Jaguars offense. The second-year running back played just nine of Jacksonville's 71 offensive snaps in the contest, far behind starter Travis Etienne, who played 49 snaps. Though Bigsby is tough to rely on for consistent fantasy production, he remains a solid insurance policy to stash in deeper leagues in the event that Etienne were to miss time at any point.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: In line to suit up vs. Bills

Coach Doug Pederson said Thursday that Bigsby (shoulder) is "ok" and will play versus Buffalo on Monday Night Football, John Shipley of SI.com reports. Bigsby didn't play any offensive snaps versus the Browns in Week 2. He suffered a shoulder injury on a kickoff return in the second quarter, but was subsequently able to retake the field. After Bigsby looked solid for Jacksonville in Week 1, it was likely due to the shoulder issue that he wasn't called upon to handle a single carry behind Travis Etienne versus Cleveland, while D'Ernest Johnson rushed five times for 26 yards. It sounds like the 2023 third-round pick will be able to resume handling the No. 2 backfield role versus Buffalo.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: No touches Week 2

Bigsby (shoulder) returned to Sunday's loss against Cleveland but didn't play any offensive snaps. Bigsby suffered a shoulder injury during the second quarter on a kickoff return, and he was able to return to the contest during the second half. The 2023 third-round pick didn't play any offensive snaps in the game, as D'Ernest Johnson carried five times for 26 yards behind starting running back Travis Etienne. Bigsby had a promising season opener with 12 carries for 73 yards, but his involvement Week 2 left a lot to be desired. Even though he returned to the field, the shoulder injury may have affected Bigsby's role versus the Browns, so he still should be considered Jacksonville's No. 2 running back for now.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Exits Sunday's game

Bigsby was forced out of Sunday's game against the Browns with a shoulder injury. Prior to his exit from the contest, Bigsby hadn't recorded a carry. In his absence, Travis Etienne and D'Ernest Johnson are available to handle the Jaguars' RB duties.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Stashes (RB Preview)

The top two guys on this list last week were Mason and Irving, Bigsby was third. By the time we get to Week 2, they may all be rostered in too many leagues. Bigsby remains in the stash category because I still think he needs an injury to be a flex. Of course, if Travis Etienne fumbles another game away that could change.

  • Jaguars' Tank Bigsby: Week 2 Waiver Priority List

Bigsby was Jacksonville's best running back in Week 1 at Miami with 12 carries for 73 yards. Travis Etienne, meanwhile, had 12 carries for 44 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for 15 yards on three targets. We heard all offseason that Jacksonville wanted to give Bigsby a bigger role, and it played out that way against the Dolphins. He might do enough to be a flex in deeper leagues while Etienne is healthy, and Bigsby could be a lottery ticket if Etienne ever missed any time. Bigsby is worth adding in all leagues for 5-10 percent of your remaining FAB.
