Reed is slated to serve as the Ravens' No. 2 quarterback for Thursday night's game against Jacksonville.
Reed was signed to the 53-man roster off the practice squad Thursday. With both Lamar Jackson (thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) on injured reserve, Reed will back up Joe Fagnano in Week 9, with Kedon Slovis (coach's decision) inactive but available if needed as the emergency No. 3 quarterback.

Ravens' Austin Reed: Signed to 53-man roster
Reed was signed off the practice squad to the 53-man roster ahead of Thursday's game against Jacksonville.
With Lamar Jackson (thumb) and Tyler Huntley (toe) on injured reserve and Jacoby Brissett unavailable after recently being acquired from the Cardinals, the Ravens added Reed to bolster depth at the quarterback position. Reed will be behind Joe Fagnano and Kedon Slovis, and while that doesn't mean he will be active, he should at least be available if needed as Baltimore's emergency signal-caller.

Reed spent time with the Ravens during training camp and the preseason, though he has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game. Baltimore's third-string QB, Joe Fagnano, is also dealing with an injury, to his ankle, and was limited during Monday's walkthrough.

The Bears waived Reed on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
