Cardinals' Elijah Wilkinson: Stays in the desert
Wilkinson re-signed with the Cardinals on a one-year contract Wednesday, Zach Gershman of the team's official site reports.
Wilkinson was Arizona's starter at left guard to begin the 2023 campaign, but he ultimately ended up sharing the role down the stretch after he returned from a neck injury. The 29-year-old will now work on earning back that role on a full-time basis in 2024.

Wilkinson was considered questionable after being activated from injured reserve Saturday. He has now been cleared and is set to play for the first time since October. Barring any setbacks, look for him to return to his role at left guard.

Wilkinson has been out since Week 6 with the injury, though he'll now be eligible to return this season. Whether that occurs in Week 15 against the 49ers remains to be seen,. When he can return, he should retake the starting left guard job.

Wilkinson has missed the minimum of four weeks and will now have a 21-day window to practice with the team before he'll need to be added to the 53-man roster. However, the 28-year-old can return to play as soon as Sunday against the Steelers.

Wilkinson was set to miss his second straight game of the season after sustaining a neck issue in practice leading up to Week 7. He'll be forced to sit out for the next four games and will be eligible to return against the Rams on Nov. 26. Dennis Daley -- who signed a two-year deal with Arizona in free agency -- is set to start at left guard in Wilkinson's absence.

Wilkinson will now join up with the Cardinals after starting nine games for the Falcons last year. With Arizona currently lacking depth along the offensive line, the 28-year-old could have the opportunity to compete for a starting job heading into next season.
