  • Cole Fotheringham: Lands in Vegas

Fotheringham signed with the Raiders' practice squad Tuesday. Fotheringham spent time with Las Vegas last season and was also with the franchise during training camp. However, despite not making their 53-man roster, he'll get another chance with the team, this time on their practice squad.

  • Cole Fotheringham: Dropped by Texans

Fotheringham was cut from the Texans' practice squad Monday, Jonathan M. Alexander of the Houston Chronicle reports. Fotheringham joined the Texans' practice squad in late August after failing to make Las Vegas' initial 53-man roster, but it now appears that Houston has decided to move in a different direction. In a corresponding move, the Texans signed Arlington Hambright to their practice squad.

  • Raiders' Cole Fotheringham: Active for OTAs

Fotheringham (hamstring) has been participating in the Raiders' OTA sessions. Fotheringham suffered a hamstring injury in the team's Week 17 matchup with the Colts before signing a reserve/future contract with the Raiders in January. He now looks to be a full go ahead of the 2024 campaign after he appeared in two contests with Las Vegas last season, reeling in his only target for six yards while playing 21 offensive snaps. The 26-year-old will attempt to carve out a reserve tight end role this season behind Michael Mayer and Brock Bowers.

  • Raiders' Cole Fotheringham: Back with active roster

The Raiders elevated Fotheringham to their active roster Saturday. With both Michael Mayer (toe) and Jesper Horsted (hamstring) missing Sunday's affair, Fotheringham has been elevated to Las Vegas' active roster to ensure some extra depth at tight end. The 26-year-old is coming off his NFL debut in Week 16, where he caught his only target for six yards and played 27 total snaps (19 offensive and eight on special teams).

  • Cole Fotheringham: Returns to practice squad

The Raiders reverted Fotheringham to their practice squad Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log. With primary tight end Michael Mayer (toe) unable to play Monday against Kansas City, Las Vegas elevated Fotheringham from the practice squad for the first time in his career. In his initial taste of NFL regular-season action, the Utah product played 19 offensive snaps and eight special-teams snaps, catching his only target for a six-yard gain. Whether Fotheringham gets elevated again this week likely depends on Mayer's ability (or inability) to suit up.

  • Raiders' Cole Fotheringham: Joins active roster

The Raiders elevated Fotheringham to the active roster Sunday. This is the first time Fotheringham has been elevated to the active roster since joining the Raiders' practice squad Aug. 30. The undrafted rookie tight end out of Utah has a chance to make his NFL debut Monday against the Chiefs.

  • Raiders' Cole Fotheringham: Gets chance with Raiders

Fotheringham has signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent, Rachel Gossen of the team's official site reports. Fotheringham recorded 15 receptions for 128 yards over eight games in his final season with Utah in 2021. The rookie tight end was the only player at his position signed in Las Vegas' class of undrafted free agents. He'll join a position group that currently features four veteran players, including Darren Waller, Foster Moreau, Jacob Hollister and Nick Bowers. Fotheringham likely will need to carve out a niche for himself as a blocking tight end this offseason.
