The Cowboys waived Dixon on Tuesday, Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com reports.
Dixon spent time in the Cardinals organization in 2019 and 2020 before suffering an abdominal injury. He is a likely candidate to wind up on the Cowboys' practice squad if he clears waivers.

Dixon signed a contract with the Cowboys on Monday, his agent Jason Bernstein reports.
Dixon was with the Cardinals' practice squad in 2019 before being limited by an abdominal injury in 2020. He'll hope to make Dallas' roster out of camp, but a practice squad spot is probably a more realistic goal given the Cowboys' receiving depth.

Dixon spent the 2019 season with the Cardinals' practice squad, and he was afflicted by a hamstring injury for a good chunk of the year. The undrafted free agent out of Ohio State will work with the Cardinals throughout the offseason program and training camp with hopes of making the 53-man roster.

Houston is expected to sign Dixon to an undrafted free-agent contract, Aaron Wilson of The Houston Chronicle reports.
Dixon was productive but far from prolific during his junior and senior seasons at Ohio State in 2017 in 2018, totaling 60 receptions for 1,091 yards and 16 touchdowns across 22 games over that span. He has the speed to make it in the NFL but will have his work cut out for him as he competes for a depth receiver and special teams role with the Texans in 2019.
