Skipper suffered a hamstring injury in Detroit's Week 3 win over the Falcons. He has been sidelined since but now appears ready to provide depth along the offensive line in Sunday's matchup against the Buccaneers.

Skipper entered the game at right tackle for Matt Nelson, who left with an ankle injury. With both now sidelined, Colby Sorsdal has taken over at the position.

Lions' Dan Skipper: Clears physical examination
Skipper returned to practice after being re-instated from the Lions' active/non-football illness list Saturday.
It's unknown why Skipper initially landed on the active/NFI list, but he should now be ready to compete for a spot on Detroit's active roster during training camp. The 27-year-old has played a total of 10 games during his career and could provide a role as an emergency backup for the Lions this coming regular season.

Skipper (illness) was added to the Lions' active/non-football illness list Wednesday, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.
Skipper has spent time on and off Detroit's practice squad over the past two seasons, appearing in six games for the team during this span. The 27-year-old should compete for a backup role at offensive tackle when healthy this preseason.
