Titans vs. Texans Live updates Score, results, highlights, for Sunday's NFL game

3rd Quarter Report

The Titans and the Texans have shown up to the contest, but their offenses sure haven't. Sitting on a score of 13-9, the Titans have looked like the better team, but there's still one more quarter to play.

The Titans have yet to string together two consecutive wins, but this may be their chance. For now, things are looking good for them.

Preview

The Tennessee Titans will be home for the holidays to greet the Houston Texans at 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday at Nissan Stadium. Coming in fresh off a victory as the underdog, the Titans will stroll into this one as the favorite.

Tennessee was not the first on the board last Monday, but they got there more often. They dodged a bullet and finished off the Dolphins 28-27. The victory came about thanks to a strong surge starting at the 4:34 mark of the fourth quarter, when Tennessee was facing a 27-13 deficit.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead the Titans to victory, but perhaps none more so than DeAndre Hopkins, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown. Will Levis also helped out by tossing the rock for 327 yards.

The Titans were down by six with only two minutes and 15 seconds left when they drove 64 yards for the winning score. Derrick Henry punched in the touchdown from 3 yards out.

Another reason for the win was the Titans' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. The Dolphins' QB won't forget Harold Landry III anytime soon given Landry III sacked him three times.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Houston was not quite New York's equal in the second half on Sunday. The Texans' bruising 30-6 defeat to the Jets might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Houston has scored all season.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, the Texans weren't very productive in the air and finished the game with only 95 passing yards. That's the fewest passing yards they've managed all season.

Tennessee's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8. As for Houston, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Tennessee came up short against Houston when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 19-14. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
