Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Poor shooting display Tuesday
Garland had 14 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt), three rebounds, five assists and one steal over 36 minutes during Tuesday's 120-95 loss to the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
Garland is in line for a rough matchup in this series, as he'll have to deal with two excellent defenders in Jrue Holiday and Derrick White, so his Game 1 display is not entirely surprising. He didn't have his best performances in the first-round series against the Magic either, and he's averaging just 14.8 points and 5.4 assists per game through eight playoff appearances. In fact, Garland has failed to surpass the 15-point mark in six of his eight playoff outings, a clear downgrade after averaging 18.0 points per contest during the regular season.

Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Stuffs stat sheet in Game 7 win
Garland finished with 12 points (3-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds, four assists and three steals across 30 minutes during Sunday's 106-94 victory over the Magic in Game 7 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Garland struggled badly from the floor and finished with more field-goal attempts than points scored. However, the speedy point guard salvaged his fantasy performance by delivering decent numbers in other categories. The Cavaliers need Garland to play a more prominent role on offense during the Eastern Conference Semifinals matchup against the Celtics, as he averaged only 14.9 points per game while shooting 44.9 percent from the floor in the first round.

Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Modest production again
Garland accumulated 14 points (5-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, six assists and one block over 32 minutes during Saturday's 112-89 loss to the Magic in Game 4 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Garland has yet to score more than 15 points through four postseason games and has shot only 41.9 percent from the field during that stretch. Following back-to-back losses in Orlando to even the series, Cleveland needs more offensive production out of its point guard if the team is going to advance to the next round. During the regular season, Garland averaged 18.0 points on 44.6 percent shooting, including 37.1 percent from deep.

Cavaliers' Darius Garland: Leads from deep in Game 2 win

Garland had a strong showing from deep in Cleveland's second straight victory to begin the series, connecting on a team-high mark from three while handing out a team-high-tying assist total and ending as one of four Cavaliers with 15 or more points. Garland has provided a nice boost for Cleveland through two games in the first round, posting at least 14 points, four assists and three rebounds in two straight outings.

Garland amassed 16 points (6-11 FG, 4-5 3Pt), two rebounds and four assists across 29 minutes during Friday's 129-120 win over the Pacers.
Garland was noticeably passive in the win, attempting just 11 field goals en route to 16 points. Although he has been able to increase his production over the past two weeks, the same cannot be said for the season as a whole. Given how disappointing he has been, there is a good chance he is available at a nice discount next season, especially if he can take on a larger responsibility on the offensive end.

It's the fourth double-double of the season for the fifth-year guard, with three of them coming in March as he continues to handle primary distribution duties while Donovan Mitchell (nose) has been sidelined. Through 14 games on the month, Garland has averaged 19.4 points, 6.6 assists, 3.4 threes, 3.2 boards and 0.9 steals, and he should continue to carry the load in the Cavaliers' backcourt straight into April with Mitchell still lacking a clear timeline for his return.

The Cavaliers have been struggling badly on offense without Donovan Mitchell (nose), but Sunday's performance was a new low for them, as they failed to reach the 90-point plateau in a game where most of the starters logged limited minuted.
