NBA veteran guard Isaiah Thomas has found a home for the remainder of the 2021-22 season. On Tuesday, the Charlotte Hornets announced they have signed Thomas for the rest of the current campaign after first signing him to two consecutive 10-day contracts. The Hornets were clearly happy with what they saw from Thomas during those deals.

Since joining the Hornets on March 2, Thomas has appeared in seven games for the team and averaged 9.9 points, two assists and 1.3 rebounds in 13.4 minutes per performance while providing the team with an offensive boost off of the bench. In addition to the Hornets, Thomas has also spent time with the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks this season.

After being hampered by a hip injury for the past several seasons, Thomas, 33, is just happy to be healthy again and playing the game that he loves while also potentially serving as an inspiration to other players across the league's landscape.

"It's just a blessing for me to be able to be where I'm at today with how bad my hip was, because I never thought I would be in this space again where I have no pain and I can play free and I can just live free," Thomas said earlier this month, via The Athletic. "Not just play, like, I don't have no pain on a daily basis.

"I see all the love, and that shit goes a long way because I was down and out a little bit," he added. "But I never quit, and it's gonna come back around. I know it is, because I never cheated the game. Everywhere I go in the league, players, coaching staff, everybody's like your story is inspiring. That's what keeps me going."

With 10 regular-season games remaining, the Hornets (37-35) appear destined for a spot in the NBA's play-in tournament as they currently sit ninth in the Eastern Conference playoff picture. With Thomas now inked for the rest of the season, they'll have some additional guard depth for their stretch run.
