Kase's NHL negotiating rights were acquired by Carolina from Philadelphia on Wednesday in exchange for Massimo Rizzo and a 2025 fifth-round draft pick.
Kase had six goals and 14 points in 25 contests with Prague of the Czech Extraliga last season. The 26-year-old is unsigned, but the Hurricanes now have the option to offer him a contract.
