Thomas (knee) is active ahead of Sunday's game against the Commanders, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. The All-Pro offensive lineman logged a week of limited practice sessions after sustaining a knee injury during the Giants' Week 10 loss to the Cowboys, and he'll be able to play through the pain Sunday. Thomas has struggled to stay on the field in 2023, appearing in just three of New York's 10 games thus far.... See More ... See Less

Giants' Andrew Thomas: Back on the field
Thomas (knee) returned to Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Thomas exited Sunday's game after Mazi Smith landed on his knee. Thomas went to the medical tent following the play but is back on the field at left tackle.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Leaves with injury
Thomas has exited Sunday's game against the Cowboys with a knee injury. Thomas got rolled up on by a Mazi Smith of the Cowboys, but he was able to walk off the field, according to Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports, although he did enter the medical tent on the sidelines. He is considered questionable to return.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Active Sunday
Thomas (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. The left tackle practiced on a limited basis throughout the week after missing the team's last seven games. Thomas suffered the injury during New York's Week 1 loss to the Cowboys.... See More ... Giants' Andrew Thomas: Questionable for Week 9
Thomas (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Raiders, but the Giants are hopeful he'll be available to play, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. Thomas sustained a hamstring injury Week 1 against the Cowboys and hasn't played since. He was a limited participant throughout practices this week, however, giving the Giants some confidence he may be ready to end his streak of absences Sunday. The left tackle should be viewed as a game-time decision, with official word on his status set to arrive when the Giants release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.... Giants' Andrew Thomas: Out again Week 8
Thomas (hamstring) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Thomas is set to miss a seventh straight contest due to a hamstring injury he suffered Week 1 versus Dallas. There was initially some optimism that he could return this week, but he came into the weekend considered doubtful to play after logging a trio of limited practice sessions, and Thomas will instead look to get back on the field next Sunday in Las Vegas. The Giants' offensive line has struggled without the star tackle, giving up the second-most sacks in the league through seven weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Expected back next week
Thomas (hamstring) remains out for Sunday's game against the Commanders but is expected to return to the lineup Week 8 against the Jets, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Thomas hasn't suited up since the Giants' season opener, with Schefter relaying that the left tackle had a setback before the team's Week 4 contest against the Seahawks. The Giants want to make sure he's 100 percent until clearing him to return to game action, but Thomas made enough progress in his recovery this week for the team to be optimistic that he'll be ready to play next week. Justin Pugh or Tyre Phillips will likely start at left tackle in Thomas' stead versus the Commanders.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Missing another week
Thomas (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Thomas continues to miss time due to a hamstring injury sustained Week 1, and Sunday will mark his sixth absence in a row. With Joshua Ezeudu (toe) now on injured reserve and Matt Peart (shoulder) also ruled out for Week 7, the Giants may have to rearrange things across the O-line in order to find a starter at left tackle versus Washington.... Giants' Andrew Thomas: Still recovering from injury
Thomas (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday. Thomas' hamstring injury has lingered for longer than expected and the Georgia product remains unable to compete. He's also unlikely to return Sunday against the Dolphins, according to head coach Brian Daboll, as reported by Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com. Although it's likely worth noting that he hasn't officially been ruled out yet. Assuming he is unable to play, Joshua Ezeudu will likely draw the start in his place.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Out for Week 4
Thomas (hamstring) has been ruled out of Monday's contest against the Seahawks, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. Thomas is set to miss his third straight game after sustaining a hamstring injury in the season opener against the Cowboys. Joshua Ezeudu is expected to once again start at left tackle in Thomas' absence.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Misses practice Friday
Thomas (hamstring) did not participate at practice Friday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports. It's a very discouraging sign for Thomas' chances of suiting up Monday versus Seattle. He still hasn't been ruled out for Week 4 officially, but it sure seems likely that it will be 2022 third-rounder Joshua Ezeudu, not Thomas, who starts at left tackle for the Giants versus the Seahawks.... Giants' Andrew Thomas: No go for Week 3
Thomas (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 3 versus the 49ers, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. Thomas will miss a second game in a row Thursday when the Giants take on San Francisco on Thursday Night Football. The 24-year-old will once again give way to Joshua Ezeudu at left tackle in Week 3.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Will be game-time decision
Thomas (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at Arizona, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports. Thomas said Friday that his hamstring was feeling better, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports, a good sign for his chances to play in Week 2. If he's forced to sit out though, Matt Peart could be in line to start at left tackle Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Back at practice Thursday
Thomas (hamstring) was a limited participant at practice Thursday ahead of Sunday's game at Arizona, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports. It's a step in the right direction toward playing in Week 2 after Thomas missed practice entirely Wednesday. He'll still probably need to practice in full Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into Sunday's matchup at the Cardinals, though.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Sunday's status TBD
Thomas' (hamstring) status for Sunday's game against Arizona is up in the air, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports. It seems like New York's All-Pro tackle avoided a worse-case scenario, as he is thought to have avoided a serious injury. Even if he plays Sunday, it's safe to assume he won't be playing at full strength, per Duggan. The Giants play San Francisco's deadly pass rush next Thursday, which could factor into New York's decision of whether to play its star this coming Sunday.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: Inks massive extension
Thomas agreed to a five-year, $117.5 million deal with the Giants on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. The 2020 first-round pick's new extension includes $67 million guaranteed and will kick in after the 2023 NFL season. After struggling during his first couple years in the league, the Georgia product turned things around and was one of the best offensive linemen in football in 2022, earning second-team All-Pro honors. Thomas' yearly salary comes out to $23.5 million, making him the second-highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL. The 24-year-old will likely continue holding down the left side of the Giants' offensive line for many years to come.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Andrew Thomas: On books through 2024
The Giants announced Tuesday that Thomas' fifth-year team option for 2024 will be exercised. The No. 4 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft endured a somewhat rocky start to his professional career, but he's steadily improved since the latter portion of his rookie season and has emerged as a franchise cornerstone at left tackle. The 24-year-old was a second-team All-Pro selection in 2023 while starting in 16 of the Giants' 17 regular-season contests. He'll continue to protect Daniel Jones' blindside through at least the 2024 season, though expect Thomas and the Giants to work out a long-term extension before his rookie deal expires....
