Ward (knee) was placed on the reserve/on-football injury list Monday, Brooke Pryor of The Kansas City Star reports.
Ward is still recovering from ACL surgery, so while he is unable to play, the move will allow the Chiefs to keep the defensive end without him counting towards the 90-man roster.
