Gabbert completed 22 of 35 passes for 170 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 28-0 win over Los Angeles. He added 43 rushing yards on nine carries and did not commit a turnover.

Gabbert played the role of game manager in his debut for Chip Kelly's offense. The majority of his completions were made on short and safe throws to his wideouts and running backs. Anytime he attempted to go further than 15 yards his throws became errant. The greatest example of this was in the first quarter when he had Jeremy Kerley wide open down the field and overshot his receiver in what would have been a certain long touchdown. On the positive side, Gabbert displayed his athleticism by rushing for several first downs and finishing with 43 yards on the ground. His running ability could give him sneaky value in weeks with a good matchup, but the veteran's lack of downfield touch makes him a low-end option at quarterback.
