The White Sox acquired Bush along with catcher Edgar Quero from the Angels on Wednesday in exchange for right-handers Lucas Giolito and Reynaldo Lopez, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. Bush missed the first few months of the season at Double-A Rocket City with an oblique strain and has put up a 5.88 ERA and 1.42 WHIP through 26 innings across six starts since returning. Though his stats don't jump off the page on first glance, he's allowed just three runs over his last three starts (14.2 IP) and has demonstrated an ability to strike batters out at a solid rate. If he continues at his current rate, there's a chance the 23-year-old southpaw makes his MLB debut before the end of next season.... See More ... See Less

Angels' Ky Bush: Starts up rehab stint
Bush (oblique) made a rehab appearance Thursday for the Angels' rookie-level Arizona Complex League affiliate, recording just one out while allowing five runs (four earned) on five hits and one walk. Bush's 2023 debut was an inauspicious one, as he retired just one of the eight batters he faced. The Angels will hope that Bush's rough showing was a byproduct of rust rather than any lingering discomfort from the left oblique injury that has kept him on the shelf all season. Once he ramps up over the course of multiple rehab outings in the lower minors, Bush is expected to settle into the rotation at Double-A Rocket City.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Ky Bush: Opens season on IL
Double-A Rocket City placed Bush (oblique) on its 7-day injured list April 6. Bush is still working his way back from a left oblique injury that limited him for much of spring training. Once healthy, Bush should settle back into a spot in the Rocket City rotation after logging a 3.67 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in 103 innings at the Double-A level in 2022.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Ky Bush: Minor oblique injury
Bush is currently dealing with an oblique injury, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. Fletcher reports that the injury is "minor," but the Angels decided not to have the left-hander appear in MLB spring training as he recovers. Bush is one of the top pitching prospects in the Angels' system, and the 23-year-old finished 2022 with a 3.67 ERA and 101:29 K:BB in his 103 innings over 21 starts. He has a good chance to make starts for the Halos before the end of 2023.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Ky Bush: Showing well in Double-A
Bush has a 3.20 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 77:24 K:BB in 76 innings across 16 starts for Double-A Rocket City this season. The 2021 second-rounder had a tremendous first half, but his workload has been dialed back significantly over the last month-plus -- he's made just four total appearances (pitching just 14.1 innings) in July and August, not counting a scoreless inning in the Futures Game. A big lefty at 6-foot-6, 240 pounds, Bush has shown better command than expected and done a good job keeping the ball in the park. There's relief risk here, but Bush is an intriguing prospect....
