Oakland selected Wade's contract Friday from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Wade has slashed .286/.405/.286 across 43 plate appearances in Triple-A Las Vegas this season while going 7-for-7 on stolen-base attempts. The 28-year-old utility man has never been much of an offensive threat in the majors, but his defensive versatility and speed make him a valuable bench piece for the A's. In order to make room for Wade on the roster, Nick Allen was optioned to Las Vegas, and Cal Stevenson was designated for assignment Friday.
