NORMAL, Ill. (AP) James Robinson ran for a career-high 193 yards and two touchdowns, Spencer Schnell had seven catches for a career-best 191 yards and two more TDs, and Illinois State handed South Dakota its first loss of the season 37-21 on Saturday.

Robinson had 19 carries and both of his touchdowns came in the second half, a 14-yarder late in the third quarter and a career-long 87-yard dash to make it 34-21 with 5:42 left. Schnell also scored from long distance, hauling in a 64-yard touchdown throw from Jake Kolbe for the first points of the game and snagged a 5-yard scoring toss 10 minutes later.

Illinois State (5-2, 3-1 Missouri Valley Football Conference) also got three field goals from Sean Slattery, including a 45-yard score with 1:36 left.

South Dakota (6-1, 3-1) tied the game at 14-all in the second quarter when Chris Streveler connected with Aaron Ramsey for a 2-yard touchdown, and later cut the gap to 24-21 with Kai Henry's 12-yard TD run with 13:30 to play.

Streveler finished 39-of-63 passing for 440 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
