We are headed to the end of the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament with four more blockbuster matchups Friday night in Atlanta and Indianapolis as the Sweet 16 rolls on with four more big-time showdowns. By the end of the night, the Elite Eight will be set in advance of two more huge days on Saturday and Sunday.
Up first on Friday is a compelling coaching matchup between No. 2 seed Michigan State and No. 6 seed Ole Miss as Tom Izzo and the Spartans seek to keep their storybook season going. But after navigating the grind of SEC play, the Rebels and second-year coach Chris Beard are proving to be a force.
The night's second game is an all-SEC showdown between No. 2 seed Tennessee and No. 3 seed Kentucky as the Volunteers look to avenge a pair of regular-season losses to the Wildcats. Then, the night's final two games feature a pair of No. 1 seeds in action.
No. 1 overall seed Auburn will battle No. 5 seed Michigan and first-year coach Dusty May on CBS in South region action before top-seeded Houston squares off with No. 4 seed Purdue. The Cougars own the nation's longest winning streak at 15 games but will have their hands full against a Boilermakers team led by by All-American guard Braden Smith.
