BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) Jermaine Crumpton scored 24 points and Isaiah Reese added 15 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two steals to lead Canisius to an 89-65 win over Siena on Thursday night.
Reserves Jonathan Sanks and Spencer Foley combined to hit five of the Golden Griffins' nine 3-pointers, with Sanks scoring 14 and Foley 10. Canisius (16-9, 10-2 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) had a 38-24 advantage in bench points.
Prince Oduro paced the Saints (7-19, 3-10) with 12 points and eight rebounds. Evan Fisher, Ahsante Shivers and Khalil Richard each scored 10. Siena shot 38 percent from the field, including 2 of 17 from 3-point range (12 percent).
Fisher's layup gave Siena a 12-8 lead midway through the first half. But the Saints managed just one basket - a 3-pointer by Jordan Horn - over the next six-plus minutes and a Foley 3 and two Crumpton free throws capped a 25-9 run that gave the Golden Griffins a 33-21 lead. Foley buried a 3 with 11 seconds left to give Canisius a 38-29 lead at intermission. The Golden Griffins pushed their lead to 20 midway through the second half and were never threatened from there.
