BOSTON (AP) Tyler Scanlon had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Boston University beat cold-shooting Colgate 72-58 on Thursday night.
Boston U (8-8, 4-1 Patriot League) never trailed and a double-digit lead for most of the second half. Colgate (8-8, 3-2) made just 18 of 61 from the field (29.5 percent) and missed 28 shots from long range.
Scanlon has reached double-digit scoring in a career-best six straight games, and has collected all three of his career double-doubles in three consecutive games. Max Mahoney and Cedric Hankerson scored 14 points apiece to lead the Terriers, who shot 50 percent from the field. Javante McCoy added 10 points.
Jordan Burns had 18 points and Jordan Swopshire chipped in 13 to lead Colgate.
Boston U used a 12-2 run spanning the halves to take a double-digit lead with 17:20 remaining. Francisco Amiel's 3-pointer and jumper pulled the Raiders to 51-44 with 7:50 to go, but they didn't' get closer.
