Lee posted an assist, seven shots on goal and two PIM in Saturday's 3-1 loss to the Hurricanes in Game 1. Lee missed the regular-season finale for personal reasons but returned to practice Friday before playing in Saturday's playoff opener. The winger had eight points, 30 shots, 29 hits and 22 PIM over his final 13 appearances of the 2023-24 campaign. The 33-year-old had just 37 points, his lowest total in a full season since 2015-16, but he made up for it with 176 hits and 68 PIM, both career highs. Lee (personal) was back at practice Friday, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports. Lee missed the final game of the regular season Wednesday versus the Penguins. Lee (personal) won't play Wednesday versus the Penguins, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports. Lee wasn't initially slated to miss the game, but the team later revealed he would be absent. Islanders' Anders Lee: Handed 20 penalty minutes
Lee was given 20 PIM and ejected from Sunday's 4-0 loss to New Jersey. Lee was assessed five-minute majors for kneeing Nico Hischier and fighting Timo Meier, along with a 10-minute game misconduct. Lee could be looking at a possible suspension, though that announcement likely won't come until later Monday. Lee helped out on Noah Dobson's opening tally in the first period and then scored the Islanders' final goal in the third. Lee scored a goal and added an assist in a 5-1 win over the Bruins on Saturday. Lee contributed an assist on Kyle Palmieri's first-period hat trick and then followed that up by potting one of his own to start the second period. It was his 16th goal of the year, and Lee added a hit, three shots and a plus-3 rating in 15:42 of ice time. The assist snapped a stretch in which Lee had just a single two-goal game and nine scoreless outings over 10 appearances prior to the All-Star break. Lee collected two goals in a 4-2 loss to Winnipeg on Tuesday. Lee could only do so much. He tried his best to carry the load for his team but his two goals and six shots on goal were not quite enough. After tying up the game 1-1 late in the first period, he put one past Connor Hellebuyck early in the third for his 13th on the year but the Islanders could not come up with the equalizer. Lee scored a goal on one shot in the Islanders' 4-3 shootout loss to the Kraken on Thursday. Lee scored a power-play goal by redirecting a pass from Bo Horvat to give the Islanders a 1-0 lead. This goal snaps a 10-game goal drought for Lee as he has really struggled to begin the season. He is now up to two goals and three points in 16 games overall.
