Braves' Jarred Kelenic: Pops homer Sunday
Kelenic went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Mets.
Kelenic got Atlanta on the board first with a solo home run off Luis Severino in the second inning. He now has two home runs in the last week after having none in all of April and is slashing .274/.322/.393 with seven RBI, 10 runs and a 6:29 BB:K in 90 plate appearances.

Braves' Jarred Kelenic: Launches first homer of 2024
Kelenic went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Red Sox.
His third-inning shot off Kutter Crawford got Atlanta on the board, and gave Kelenic his first long ball of the season. Despite the lack of power, the 24-year-old has generally been hitting well in his strong-side platoon role, slashing .280/.333/.373 in 81 plate appearances. Only one of those PAs has come against a southpaw, but with Adam Duvall scuffling so far (.220/.310/.380 in 58 PAs), Kelenic might get more opportunities against same-handed pitching if he heats up.

Braves' Jarred Kelenic: Gets Wednesday off
Kelenic is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.
The lefty-hitting Kelenic typically sits when Atlanta faces off against left-handed starting pitchers, but the young outfielder will cede his spot in the lineup to Adam Duvall while right-hander Emerson Hancock takes the hill for Seattle. Atlanta may just have wanted to open up playing time for Duvall, who hadn't started since last Friday while the club had faced off against right-handers in each of the previous four games.
