Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Rehab assignment on tap Friday
LeMahieu (foot) is in line to begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Somerset on Friday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
LeMahieu has already joined Somerset, but he will first go through a full workout Thursday and, assuming that goes off without a hitch, will begin playing in games Friday. The veteran infielder had to have his initial rehab assignment last month halted after just one inning due to ongoing issues with his right foot, but he's now ready to try again. Since he's missed so much time, the expectation is that LeMahieu will probably need at least a handful of rehab games before rejoining the Yankees' active roster.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Set to restart rehab stint
LeMahieu (foot) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Thursday or Friday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.
LeMahieu had embarked upon a rehab stint April 23 but lasted only one inning due to soreness in his injured right foot. He's been ramping back up of late by taking live batting practice and fielding grounders, and he recently resumed running the bases. Per Joyce, LeMahieu's restarted rehab assignment will begin with Double-A Somerset and is expected to include "a decent amount of games."

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Runs bases Sunday
LeMahieu (foot) ran the bases Sunday and will take live batting practice again Tuesday, Mark Didtler of the Associated Press reports.
Running the bases is a significant step in LeMahieu's recovery from a non-displaced fracture of his right foot. The veteran infielder has also been taking batting practice and fielding ground balls, and he could restart a minor-league rehab assignment soon. LeMahieu had begun a rehab stint April 23 but had to be pulled after just one inning due to experiencing soreness in the injured foot.

LeMahieu (foot) participated in live batting practice Saturday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
LeMahieu traveled with the team to Tampa Bay and hit off rehabbing right-hander JT Brubaker (elbow). The veteran third baseman continues to ramp up his activities as he works his way back from the non-displaced right foot fracture he sustained in spring training. LeMahieu made a rehab appearance April 23 with Double-A Somerset, but he was pulled from the game after the first inning due to swelling in his right foot. He could be ready to resume the rehab assignment soon.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Continuing to ramp up
LeMahieu (foot) took batting practice on the Yankee Stadium field Wednesday and will travel with the club on its upcoming road trip to Tampa, per MLB.com.
In addition to swinging the bat, LeMahieu has also been fielding ground balls as he works his way back from the non-displaced right foot fracture he suffered March 16. By traveling with New York on its next road trip, he'll be able to take live at-bats and do infield work at the team's training complex, which happens to be in Tampa. Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that the club intends to ramp up LeMahieu's "baseball activities all week" and indicated that the veteran infielder could potentially start a minor-league rehab assignment soon thereafter.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Back to baseball work
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that LeMahieu (foot) recently resumed hitting but that the veteran infielder may not be "that close to being ready for rehab [games]," Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.
The 35-year-old was shut down for a week in late April after he experienced swelling in his foot during a rehab game, and he's now back to taking part in baseball activities. It's an encouraging development following the setback, but LeMahieu still has some work to do in his recovery before again being cleared for minor-league action.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Shut down for seven days
LeMahieu is still dealing with swelling in his right foot and will be shut down from baseball activity for a week, Erik Boland of Newsday reports.
LeMahieu had to make an early exit from his first rehab game at Double-A Somerset on Tuesday after his fractured right foot began bothering him in the first inning. After getting checked out by team doctors Wednesday, he will officially be pulled off his rehab assignment and shut down from all activity for the next seven days. Next steps for the 35-year-old infielder will be determined once his seven days are up, though it seems his target return date will be pushed back well into May.

Yankees' DJ LeMahieu: Exits rehab game early
LeMahieu exited after playing one inning in his rehab game Tuesday with Double-A Somerset due to soreness in his fractured right foot, Randy Miller of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
LeMahieu left the contest after striking out in the top of first frame and playing third base in the bottom of the inning. He was making his first rehab appearance and was expected to appear in three more contests in the minors before returning from the 10-day injured list. The 35-year-old is now set to undergo examinations on his foot in New York on Wednesday, according to Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News. More information on his status will be provided following the tests, but LeMahieu's return date from the IL looks as though it will be pushed back.
