Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Friday's 2-1 extra-innings win over the Yankees. His second knock came in the 11th inning, when he doubled to left field to plate Los Angeles' only two runs of the game. Hernandez has three RBI over his past two contests to move into the team lead with 41 RBI on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Homers in three-hit game Thursday
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three total runs scored in an 11-7 victory versus the Pirates on Thursday. Hernandez broke a 4-4 tie with a solo blast in the fifth inning, and Los Angeles never trailed again. The long ball snapped a 10-game stretch without a homer for the veteran outfielder, and after a hot start to the season, he's gone deep just twice over his past 23 contests. However, Hernandez still ranks second on the Dodgers with 13 homers and 39 RBI overall.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Clubs 12th homer
Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, an additional run, a double and two walks in Friday's loss to Cincinnati. Hernandez also reached on a hit-by-pitch, so he got on base in all five of his plate appearances. Both of the outfielder's hits went for extra bases, and his ninth-inning solo homer was his first long ball in 12 games. Hernandez has been a strong addition to the Dodgers' high-octane offense, as he's tied for 10th in the league with 12 homers and ranks seventh with 38 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Plates three runs in win
Hernandez went 2-for-5 with a triple, a double, three RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Giants. Hernandez got his night going with a run-scoring double in the fourth and then capped things off by driving in two more with a triple in the ninth. It was his first triple of the season and his third time with multiple extra-base hits. He's been providing some clutch hitting as of late with 10 RBI over his last six games and now sits at third in the majors with 36 RBI for the season. The 31-year-old is slashing .249/.310/.497 with 11 homers, 28 runs and a 14:56 BB:K in 184 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -

Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 5-1 win over Atlanta. Hernandez homered for the second time in three games and has tallied at least a hit in 10-of-12 games since April 23. The 31-year-old is slashing .252/.320/.468 with eight homers, 25 RBI, 23 runs and a 13:49 BB:K in 153 plate appearances. Hernandez is showing increased signs of power from a year ago but strikeouts still remain an issue. His 49 strikeouts are currently the fourth-most in baseball, as he's striking out 32 percent of the time.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Slugs homer in victory Friday
Hernandez went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 4-3 extra-innings win against Atlanta. Offense was sparse for both teams until extra innings, and Hernandez's solo shot in the fourth held up as the decisive margin until Ronald Acuna tied the score with a solo shot of his own in the eighth. Hernandez's long ball was his seventh of the season -- he's tied with Shohei Ohtani for the team lead in that category and ranks third with 23 RBI. Hernandez has slugged at least 22 homers in every full campaign since 2018 and is well on pace to meet that mark again in his first season as a Dodger.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Goes deep in victory
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Thursday in a 2-1 win over Washington. Hernandez's second-inning solo shot put the Dodgers on the board and amounted for half of the team's total output of runs in the low-scoring win. The long ball was the slugger's sixth of the campaign and his first over his past 11 contests. Hernandez has trailed off a bit of late after a strong start to his Dodgers tenure, but he still ranks second on the team and is tied for 11th in the majors with 20 RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Nabs second steal
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Nationals. The veteran outfielder crossed the plate multiple times for the first time in April, while the steal was his second of 2024. Hernandez got off to a quick start to his Dodgers tenure but has cooled down of late, slashing .226/.328/.321 over his last 15 games with only one homer, five RBI, seven runs and a 32.8 percent strikeout rate.... Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Slugs fifth homer Friday
Hernandez went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run against San Diego in an extra-innings loss Friday. Hernandez produced LA's final runs of the contest with his two-run blast to right field in the third inning. The long ball increased his RBI total on the campaign to 17, which ranks first in the majors. Hernandez has been a great addition to the Dodgers' offense thus far, supplementing the RBI total with a .290/.343/.581 slash line, five homers, 12 runs and a stolen base.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Four RBI, steal in defeat
Hernandez went 3-for-5 with four RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 9-7 loss to the Cubs. Hernandez opened the scoring in the first inning with a two-out, two-run single off Kyle Hendricks. He'd drive in two more in the seventh off Julian Merryweather before swiping his first bag of the year. While he won't get the same fanfare as others in the Dodgers' star-studded lineup, Hernandez has gotten off to a fast start this year, going 12-for-40 with four home runs and 14 RBI through his first 10 games.... Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Shows off power once again
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 8-3 win over the Giants. Hernandez broke open what had been a relatively close game with his 431-foot, three-run blast in the sixth inning. It was the fourth long ball in the past four games for the veteran outfielder, who is making a strong impression in his first campaign with the Dodgers. Hernandez ranks third in MLB with nine RBI and should continue to have plenty of run-producing opportunities throughout the campaign given LA's prolific offense.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Belts third long ball
Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two total runs and two total RBI in Sunday's 5-4 win against St. Louis. Hernandez played a key role in sparking the Dodgers' comeback win, putting the team on the board with a run-scoring double in the sixth inning and pulling Los Angeles to within a run with a solo shot in the eighth. The veteran outfielder went 2-for-12 without an RBI over his first three games of the campaign, but he's gone 4-for-12 with three homers and six runs batted in over the past three contests. Hernandez has struggled making contact so far, though, striking out 12 times through 26 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Smacks first two homers
Hernandez went 2-for-3 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in Friday's 6-3 win over the Cardinals. Hernandez cranked his first Dodgers home run off Zack Thompson in the second inning, extending the team's lead to 2-0, before breaking things open with a three-run shot in the fourth. Hernandez has gone 4-for-17 with three extra-base hits through his first four games with Los Angeles. Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Had trouble seeing ball at T-Mobile
Hernandez has admitted to having difficulty picking up the ball while playing at T-Mobile Park in Seattle last season, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. T-Mobile doesn't have the friendliest dimensions, anyway, and it sounds like Hernandez might have been facing some additional disadvantages. The 31-year-old batted .295 with an .830 OPS on the road in 2023 while sporting a lowly .217 average and .643 OPS at home. Now with a more hitter-friendly Dodger Stadium to call home as well as a terrific supporting cast around him, Hernandez appears poised for a nice bounce-back 2024 campaign.... See More ... See Less
