Domingue made 25 saves in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Wild. Making his first NHL appearance in over a year, Domingue was stellar between the pipes and the only puck to get past him came on a tipped point shot in the second period. The 31-year-old's time with the Rangers could be brief though, as injuries to Igor Shesterkin (lower body) and Jonathan Quick (upper body) aren't thought to be serious and the team won't take the ice again until Sunday against the Blue Jackets.... Domingue was the first goaltender off the ice at morning practice, indicating he will guard the home crease versus the Wild on Thursday, Arthur Staple of The Athletic reports. The Rangers are down to their third and fourth-string goaltenders as Igor Shesterkin (lower body) and Jonathan Quick (upper body) were injured over the last week. Domingue will make his first NHL start in two seasons as he was 1-1-0 with a 2.02 GAA and .928 save percentage with the Penguins in 2021-22. Domingue will be backed up by his AHL Hartford teammate, Dylan Garand. The Wild are a high-scoring team, as they have scored 44 goals in just 12 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Rangers' Louis Domingue: Back in NHL
Domingue was called up to the Rangers on Wednesday. Domingue was with AHL Hartford for only a day. His return might indicate that Igor Shesterkin (lower body) isn't ready to return for Thursday's home game versus Minnesota. To further complicate matters, Jonathan Quick is now day-to-day with an upper-body injury. If Quick and Shesterkin are both unavailable, then Domingue might start Thursday. Goaltender Dylan Garand was also called up by New York.... See More ... See Less -

Domingue snagged a two-year, $1.55 million contract from the Rangers on Wednesday. While Domingue likely will come into training camp as the presumptive No. 3 option for the Rangers, it's not impossible that he could edge out Jaroslav Halak for the backup job behind Igor Shesterkin. Even if he does make the Opening Night roster, Domingue is unlikely to see enough NHL action to consider taking him in most fantasy formats except perhaps as a pairing option with Shesterkin.... Joe Fortunato@JoeFortunatoBSB4H agoAnywho, 2-2 going back to New York. Hard not to expect that. Rangers simply have to be better, full stop. Officiating or not, Florida has been the better team the last two games. This is why you fight for home ice advantage. Win two of the next three, with two at home

Joe Fortunato@JoeFortunatoBSB4H agoThe Wheeler penalty is 100% a penalty. So is Zibanejad getting dragged down at center ice to stop a last-minutes 2-on-1. You simply cannot call one and not the other. And yet Florida continues to get these calls and double the Rangers up on power plays
-
Joe Fortunato@JoeFortunatoBSB4H agoCan’t say Florida didn’t deserve that. Goal was to always split Florida but the Rangers have to be better. Zibanejad, Kreider, Panarin have to show up.

Joe Fortunato@JoeFortunatoBSB5H agoOf course Lafreniere hits the crossbar. Rangers can’t buy a break

Blue Line Station@BlueLineStation6H agoTake that. Nice to see wheeler back, and smart managing Chytil knowing this playoff run is not as important as the rest of his life. Thoughts on the first period Rangers fans?
