Turang went 1-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base Saturday in Boston. His third home run of the season came in the eighth inning off reliever Zack Kelly. Turang had drawn a walk and notched his 19th stolen base of the season earlier in the contest. After going 26-for-30 in stolen base attempts as a rookie, Turang is now a perfect 19-for-19 in 2024. Only Elly De La Cruz has more this season with 31.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' Brice Turang: Resting against lefty
Turang is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins. The lefty-hitting Turang finds himself on the bench for the third game in a row while the Marlins bring another southpaw (Jesus Luzardo) to the hill. Andruw Monasterio will fill in at second base for Turang.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Idle again Tuesday
Turang is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins. Turang isn't starting for a second straight game, with southpaw Trevor Rogers on the bump for Tuesday's contest. Instead, Andruw Monasterio will lead off and play second base.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting out versus lefty
Turang is not in the lineup for Monday's contest in Miami. The Marlins are rolling with southpaw Ryan Weathers, so the left-handed hitting Turang will take a seat. Andruw Monasterio will occupy second base for the Brewers.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Knocks three hits
Turang went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBI, a run scored and a steal in Sunday's loss to Houston. Turang doubled, swiped third base and scored in the first inning. He later knocked a two-run single in the seventh. He's been swinging a hot bat all season and is officially entering breakout territory. After registering a brutal .585 OPS through 448 plate appearances in 2023, Turang owns a .314/.369/.431 slash line through 43 games this season. He's perfect in 18 stolen base attempts and has produced 15 multi-hit games.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Getting Wednesday off
Turang is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates. The Brewers are facing left-hander Martin Perez in a day game after a night game, so manager Pat Murphy likely viewed Wednesday's contest as an opportune time to give the lefty-hitting Turang a breather. Turang had batted out of the leadoff spot in each of the last seven games, going 8-for-27 (.296 average) with two stolen bases, three RBI and three runs.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Logs three doubles in loss
Turang went 3-for-4 with three doubles, an RBI and a run scored during Wednesday's 6-4 loss to Kansas City. Turang reached safely four times Wednesday, tagging Brady Singer, Nick Anderson and Tyler Duffey for doubles during the contest while also logging a walk. Turang has been one of the best second basemen in baseball this season, ranking third at the position with a .316 batting average while owning a .826 OPS and a 13.7 percent K Rate.... See More ... Brewers' Brice Turang: Getting Monday off
Turang is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals. Turang -- who is tied for second in the majors with 14 stolen bases -- will hit the bench for just the third time all season in what looks to be a maintenance day. Joey Ortiz will fill in for Turang at the keystone and will bat second.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Resting against lefty
Turang isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against the Yankees. Turang will sit down to begin the game as left-hander Carlos Rodon prepares to start on the mound for New York. Joey Ortiz will slide over to second base as a result, allowing Owen Miller to pick up a start at the hot corner and bat seventh.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes two more bags
Turang went 1-for-2 with a walk and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Pirates. Turang is now 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts this year, tying Elly De La Cruz for the league lead. After a disappointing rookie campaign, the 24-year-old Turang has gotten off to an excellent start this season, batting .319 with an .847 OPS, two homers, 12 runs scored and nine RBI through 21 games.... Brewers' Brice Turang: Heads to bench Friday
Turang is out of the lineup for Friday's game at Baltimore. Turang started the past 10 games after sitting Opening Day against a left-handed starter, but he'll take a seat Friday with right-hander Tyler Wells pitching for the Orioles. Andrew Monasterio will handle the keystone and bat eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Pops first homer
Turang went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Monday's loss to the Reds. Owned in fantasy mostly for his speed, Turang posted his first homer of the season Monday night, tagging a 397-foot blast off Graham Ashcraft in the fifth inning. He later added two additional RBI on a double in the next inning. Turang sports a .379/.424/.586 slash line in his 32 plate appearances while establishing himself as Milwaukee's starting second baseman.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Two more thefts
Turang went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Twins. The second baseman is off to a torrid start through four contests, as he's gone 7-for-14 with a league-leading six stolen bases and two doubles. Turang posted just 19 multi-hit performances and 18 extra-base hits in 137 games as a rookie last season, but he now has two hits in each of the past three games.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Swipes three bags in win
Turang went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Mets. Getting the start at second base and batting eighth, Turang reached on singles in the third and ninth inning and was off to the races each time. The 24-year-old infielder swiped 26 bags in 30 attempts as a rookie last year, but his speed might be his only consistent source of fantasy value after he slashed .218/.285/.300 in 448 plate appearances. Turang is 3-for-7 through two games to begin the 2024 campaign, but all three hits were singles and he's struck out three times.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Locked in at keystone
Brewers manager Pat Murphy confirmed Tuesday that Turang will be the club's starting second baseman Opening Day against the Mets, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The 24-year-old worked as Milwaukee's primary second baseman last season and produced plus-12 defensive runs saved, but he underwhelmed offensively with a .218/.285/.300 slash line, six home runs, 34 RBI and 46 runs in 448 plate appearances. Turang did steal 26 bases in 30 attempts, so he could have some limited fantasy utility in deeper leagues.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Starting strong
Turang went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in Milwaukee's 7-5 loss against Texas on Thursday. Turang is slated to be the Opening Day second baseman, though it's possible Milwaukee could go with other options depending on if his bat remains an issue (.218 batting average across 404 plate appearances in 2023). That the 24-year-old is hitting .375 on an admittedly small three-game spring training sample size is encouraging, however. Turang's plus glove will likely afford him ample leeway, but it's possible Joey Ortiz, Owen Miller or Andruw Monasterio could play more if the hitting woes really drag into the new season.... Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against southpaw
Turang isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against the Cubs. Left-hander Jordan Wicks will be on the hill for the Cubs to begin Saturday's contest, meaning the left-handed bat of Turang will stay put in Milwaukee's dugout. Andruw Monasterio will fill in at the keystone and bat eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Hits bench versus lefty
Turang isn't in the Brewers' lineup Saturday against Miami. Lefty Jesus Luzardo will start on the bump for the Marlins on Saturday, so the left-handed bat of Turang will stay put in the Brewers' dugout. Andruw Monasterio will fill in at second base and bat eighth while Turang sits.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting against lefty
Turang remains out of the lineup Wednesday at St. Louis. Andruw Monasterio will start at second base and bat eighth as the Brewers face a second straight left-hander in Zack Thompson. Turang has batted just .193 with a .474 OPS this year against southpaws.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Brice Turang: Takes seat versus lefty
Turang is not in the lineup Tuesday versus the Cardinals. Andruw Monasterio is playing second base and batting eighth as the Brewers match up against left-hander Drew Rom. Turang has slashed just .193/.281/.193 in 65 plate appearances versus lefties this year.... See More ... See Less
