Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Belts another homer Saturday
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a loss to the Athletics on Saturday. Raleigh's 387-foot shot to right center in the second inning served as the first run of the night for either side and also made him the first AL catcher to hit 10 or more homers in his team's first 40 games since 2003. The slugging backstop has cleared the fences four times in the last eight games alone, and he's reached safely in seven contests overall during that span.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Clubs grand slam off bench
Raleigh went 1-for-1 with a grand slam and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 10-6 win over the Twins. Raleigh hit for Seby Zavala in the seventh inning and came to the plate with the bases loaded and the Mariners down two. He delivered his first career grand slam to give Seattle the lead and score Mitch Garver, Luis Urias and Dylan Moore. Raleigh reached via walk in his other plate appearance and eventually came around to score on a sacrifice fly by Mitch Haniger. In 32 games, Raleigh has swatted nine home runs and owns a .769 OPS.... Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Receiving Tuesday off
Raliegh is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Twins. Raleigh started the previous four games and will receive a day off after going 2-for-15 with two homers during that stretch. Seby Zavala will take over behind the plate and bat ninth.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Game-winning long ball Sunday
Raleigh went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in a win over the Astros on Sunday. The 27-year-old cleared the fences for the second straight game, launching a tie-breaking homer in the ninth inning that would turn out to be the difference in the contest. Raleigh has now reached safely in four the last five games, but he's still carrying a lackluster .210 average and .288 on-base percentage across 118 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Swats seventh homer
Raleigh went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Astros. Raleigh sent Houston starter Framber Valdez to the showers with a two-run blast in the sixth inning. The homer was a much-needed positive outcome for the backstop, as he entered the contest having gone 1-for-26 with 13 strikeouts over his previous eight games. Raleigh's .210/.292/.420 season slash line isn't great, but he is tied for second among MLB catchers with seven homers while adding 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.... See More ... See Less -

Raleigh (mouth) will start at catcher and bat third in Thursday's game versus the Rangers. Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Another day, another homer
Raleigh went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and three RBI in the Mariners' 10-2 win over the Rockies in Game 2 of their doubleheader Sunday. Raleigh launched a two-run homer off reliever Noah Davis in the top of the sixth inning, driving in Julio Rodriguez in the process. He later added a sacrifice fly in the top of the eighth, scoring J.P. Crawford for his third RBI of the game. The home run was the catcher's fifth of the season and his third over the last four games. Following Sunday's pair of contests, Raleigh is batting .258 with five homers, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored over 66 at-bats in 19 contests this year.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Four hits, homer in win
Raleigh went 4-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's win over the Rockies. He also drew a walk. Raleigh jumped on the first pitch he saw from Dakota Hudson in his first at-bat and sent it into the stands in left field for his fourth home run of the season. He would then add an RBI single in the next frame before finishing with a season-high four hits on the night. Raleigh has now homered in each of his last two games and has hit safely in five of his last six, drawing six walks over that stretch to only two strikeouts.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Offensive catalyst in win
Raleigh went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and two walks in a win over the Reds on Wednesday. Several Mariners hitters enjoyed solid offensive performances Wednesday, but Raleigh set the pace with his three trips on the basepaths. That included the backstop's co-team-high third homer of the season, which erased an early 1-0 deficit for Seattle in the second inning. Raleigh has now reached safely in five straight games, and a career-high 13.1 percent walk rate has helped him get to a .311 on-base percentage despite an uninspiring .208 average.... See More ... Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Homers in extras
Raleigh went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Toronto. Raleigh provided the game-deciding blow Wednesday, launching a two-run homer off Tim Mayza in the 10th inning in an eventual 5-1 Seattle win. It's the second homer in three days for Raleigh, though he's gotten off to a slow start overall, going 6-for-36 with four RBI through his first 10 games.... See More ... See Less -

Raleigh (heel) started at catcher and went 0-for-3 in a Cactus League loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday. Raleigh ended up missing just one game with the heel issue in an absence that had been labeled as precautionary. The slugging backstop retains an impressive .348 average with three home runs and 10 RBI across 10 Cactus League games despite Sunday's blanking.... See More ... See Less -
Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Ready to play Sunday
Raleigh (heel) will start at catcher and bat fifth in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Diamondbacks. Raleigh was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's game against the White Sox due to a bruised heel, but the extra day off was apparently all the backstop needed to recover from the injury. The 27-year-old carries a .400/.520/1.000 spring slash line over nine Cactus League games into Sunday's contest.... See More ... See Less -
