Little (1-0) tossed a scoreless 10th inning out of the bullpen to pick up the win in Tuesday's 4-3 victory over Atlanta. Little was the sixth Chicago pitcher to enter the contest, and the lefty was effective despite starting his frame with a runner on second. This was the 23-year-old's first win in the majors in his 21st career appearance. Little is still a fairly low-leverage reliever at this point, which leaves him with limited fantasy appeal.... Cubs' Luke Little: Recalled from Triple-A
The Cubs recalled Little from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, Ryan Herrera of MLB.com reports. Little has permitted seven runs over nine relief innings during his time in the big leagues this season. The 6-foot-8 left-hander will operate in low-leverage situations.... See More ... See Less -
Cubs' Luke Little: Back with big club
The Cubs recalled Little from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network reports. Little was just returned to Iowa on Monday after serving as the team's 27th man during Sunday's doubleheader against the Marlins, but he's been rerouted back to the big-league bullpen. He'll give manager Craig Counsell another lefty option in relief.... See More ... See Less -
Cubs' Luke Little: Heads back to Triple-A
The Cubs returned Little to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday. As expected, Little's stay with the Cubs lasted just one day, as he had been designated as the club's 27th man for Saturday's doubleheader with the Marlins. He appeared out of the bullpen in the Cubs' 3-2 loss in Game 1 of the twin bill, striking out one while allowing one hit and one walk in a scoreless inning.... See More ... See Less -
Cubs' Luke Little: Opening Wednesday's game
Little will serve as the Cubs' opening pitcher in Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports. Little pitched the ninth inning of Tuesday's 12-2 win over Colorado, so it's unlikely his start lasts more than an inning. Once the 23-year-old lefty is pulled, Ben Brown is a likely candidate to work in bulk relief.... See More ... See Less -
Cubs' Luke Little: Secures bullpen spot
The Cubs informed Little on Monday that he'll be included on the Opening Day roster, Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune reports. Little claimed one of the final spots in the team's Opening Day bullpen after he permitted three earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out nine over 8.1 innings during Cactus League play. The 23-year-old lefty made plenty of bats miss between the Double-A and Triple-A level (84 strikeouts in 46.1 innings) and as a September call-up (12 in 6.2 innings) last season, making him a name worth monitoring if Adbert Alzolay is unable to lock down the closer's gig or otherwise misses time at some point. At least to begin the season, Little's usage could be limited to lower-leverage spots.... See More ... See Less

Jesse Rogers@JesseRogersESPN1H agoI feel like this happens more than we think but Cubs reliever Hayden Wesneski didn’t know he was protecting a no-hitter when he entered the game in 8th tonight. He subsequently gave up a hit but not the lead: “I’m glad I didn’t know.”

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro2H agoThe Cubs' 5 runs in the 10th tonight vs. MIL are their most in an inning since May 11 when they tallied 7 runs in 5th at the Pirates, who walked in six of them in that frame. In the 14 games between then, the Cubs had only four innings in which they scored more than two runs.

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro2H agoDown to Brewers' last strike, Willy Adames gets enough of Héctor Neris' splitter to tie game in 9th. He's thrown out going to 2B, on to extras. Cubs' wasted opportunities with runners in scoring position loom again in a 1-1 game. Twice had bases loaded tonight and got nothing.

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro3H agoSince Ben Brown allowed 6 runs in 1.2 IP in his MLB debut March 30, the Cubs rookie has allowed only 8 runs in 44.2 IP (1.61 ERA). And in that span, Brown has given up 1 run or less in 10 of his 12 outings.

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro3H agoThe Cubs' combined no-hitter ends with one out in the 8th on Fralick's single up the middle just beyond a diving Swanson.

Jesse Rogers@JesseRogersESPN3H agoSpoke too soon. The Cubs have double barrel action going in the pen.

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro3H agoMake it 6 no-hit innings for Cubs rookie Ben Brown tonight against the Brewers. He's walked two and struck out 8. His four-seam fastball has accounted for 69% of his 78 pitches thrown.

Jesse Rogers@JesseRogersESPN3H agoCubs rookie Ben Brown has not allowed a hit to the Brewers through 6 innings. He's only thrown 78 pitches, issuing two walks while striking out 8. His career high in pitches in 89, reached on May 2. He's been fantastic. Cubs pen is quiet.

Meghan Montemurro@M_Montemurro4H agoBen Brown is through 5 no-hit innings vs. Brewers on 64 pitches. Brown, who has walked two and struck out 6, has dominated with fastball-curveball as he's done all season. He's generated 14 called strikes and 6 whiffs on his fastball tonight. Cubs up 1-0 on Busch's homer in 3rd
